You need to chill out! I bought them because I can afford them and I intend to solve this issue, because I can afford to do so. If I didn't do the research it's simply because I do not have the time to do so. Since I own a a multi-million dollar insurance agency I do not have the luxury to conduct a lenghtly research project on compatability. Based on you 6600+ reponses on this forum you obviously have nothing better to than print arrogant and inane remarks. Do us all a favor and use your technical knowledge, if you actually poccess it, to help people out of their dilemas, instead of coming accross like a jerk.

I didn't mean to come out like a jerk(bad day but no excuse) but there is alot of info on what and how to power the Lsi's properly in here if you do a search on the subject.I used to own them and powered them with B&K AVR307 which is a high current 185 x 7 receiver. There are very few recievers on the market that actually can handle the load of the Lsi's.

So it looks like you read all my 6600+ posts? Wow I thought you didn't have time, and if you did you would have seen I have owned them and helped many on how to power them. Thanks for judging me off 1 **** post.

    Dan,

You were an asshat and he called you on it. Man up and apologize and let that be it.

Props to George for a good answer to the burning question....

    BD,

Keep your eyes peeled for the amp Mark will post. It's a solid unit and knowing our brother Mark, it'll be minty and priced right.

    Welcome and good luck.

    BD,

If you're blowing your speakers consistently on an HK, you like to listen to your stuff at extreme levels. Take care of your mains first. While it's nice to have all your speakers on seperate amplification, even with HT surround tracks, the loudest, most extreme stuff almost always comes through your left and right mains, some through the center, but the surrounds would not come close to the workout the front stage gets.

So my vote is for your initial idea of getting the most amplification you can get for the front stage, power the rears with the receiver, and you can always upgrade the rest at your leisure.

I have my 15s hooked up to an MPA 2250 and literally didn't get off my couch for two days listening to the difference between the amp and my denon receiver. I know that others like to recommend more known brands, but those monsters have a lot of power for the buck, especially with the low price they command these days. Do be careful about buying them on ebay. But you have to be careful buying used stuff too.

Here's some more info on monster amps from the polk site itself...and they used 15s to review them...

    Big Daddy,
Sorry for my **** reply. I was having a bad day and get tired of seeing people using the Lsi's on poor quality match for the Lsi.But I hope you get it squared away so you can really hear what they can do. They are fantastic speakers and with the right gear and blow your mind.

Good luck man and If I can help, just let me know.
