I recently purchased some R50's that have a Cherry wood grain finish on them. I noticed that the new R50's do not come with cherry. Are my R50's fake or last year's model
(R50 T24761 R50 T24744).
Also Ken if you have the time, would you respond to my other posting, here is a copy of it;
Greetings all , I have a Yamaha HTR-5890(5.1) receiver/amp, 2 Polk R50's, 1 Polk PSW 12, a Sony DVP-CX995V DVD (400 disk) player, and 2 Sony SS-MF750H floor speakers. I have Acoustic Research(AR) digital optical cable, 14 AWG speaker wire, Monster Ultra 600 Subwoofer cable(with Y conector for LFE/R inputs) and Monster banana plug speaker cable connectors.
I've read the Polk PDF files. I have also read Doc's suggestions, and some comments from Ken Swauge (Polk Customer Service).
I understand that I use my digital optical cable from my Sony DVD/CD player into my Yamaha HTR-5890. However, the speaker hook-up, to my PSW12 (Polk psw12 PDF file Option 1/ Polk Option 2) is still confusing (along with the settings of front large speakers (Sony SS-MF750H) and Rear speakers (Polk R50's) and cross over frequences). I was told to use the Monster Ultra 600 subwoofer cable (RCA) with Y adapter, and plug that into my PSW 12's (Low Frequency Effect) LFE/R jack(or is it L). This would correspond with Polk's Option 2 PDF file, but it leaves out the rear speakers (which is differently wired in Polk pdf Option 1). Add to this mix of choosing front Large speakers, rear medium (small?) speakers and frequency adjustments, has left me confused. Someone, please set me straight (roll it to me please, I'm a newb).
Greatly appreciated.
