Debunked? Hardly, just figured someone who claims to read 200+ pages of information off of 10 different websites and being able to respond in under 5 minutes (and then claim that yes, they actually did read all the info and ignore the information contained) isn't someone who deserves to be argued with. Your original propasition got changed so I stopped. I got you to admit that most terrorists are muslim and that's all I needed. Beyond that you showed your colors and were promptly ignored by a majority of sane, intelligent people.
Why don't you ever educate the rest of us with your infinate knowledge if you are the only one understanding of the truth?
As for the origanal post that Andrew used as an excuse to snipe with, well, the first releases should be documentary in focus. I can't help but feel that OS will use this for some political message that shouldn't be there. Save those types of movies for a bit longer. There is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction. Nine-tenths of the rights he bellows for are really privileges and he does nothing to deserve them. And there's a reason that thread got shut down. Let it go, guys.If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -
Guys,
I have a very different opinion. I am kind of tired of the whole 9/11 thing being from NYC and hearing all the things the families fight about and the mis-use of some of the monies paid out to family members, and the bickering about this memorial and that memorial, just gets to you after awhile. Where is the public out-cry for all these young soldiers that are dying in the name of getting back at those who did or supported those who did this to us. Don't get me wrong, I have 2 brothers who are policeman and would freak if I lost one of them to 9/11 but most of you are far away from the everyday sh** that goes on, and takes away from what acutually happens. The family members have argued over what color granite, or what color tint to use on the waterfall in the memorial. Hollywood is about money, don't ever think any different. -
I can't help but feel that OS will use this for some political message that shouldn't be there.
That's my whole issue with OS's last few movies."SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,
CAUSE I SPEAK OF THE POMPITIOUS OF LOVE" -
MrNightly wrote:You asked the family members? If you want to get all uppity and picky, and act like you know everything, where are you getting YOUR info? The Media? Please.
If you want to choose to ignore the recorded statements of the surviving 9/11 victims themselves to pander to the anti-Hollywood everything crowd, then go right ahead. I prefer listening to what the victims have to say, and appreciate the gratitudes shown by the victims families for Hollywood for making these movies. To each his own. Regarding Schindlers List, all of the surviving 'Schindler Jews' not only praised the film for it's factual and historical significance, but also met their cast member counterparts in visiting the actual grave of one Oskar Schindler. This can be seen at the end of the film. You should also visit the Shoah Foundation website.

HAHAHA! NEVER did I say that Muslims make up a minority in terrorist attacks. Never. If I said that muslims make up a minority of terrorist attacks on the "UNITED 93 thread" then I will KISS YOUR **** IN FRONT OF EVERYBODY AT THE NEXT POLKFEST!

As far as my proposition goes, it never changed. My proposition was that your 99% theory was comprised of hate, ignorance and, ****, and I was proven right by presenting you with actual statistics from the US government; not a bunch of mission statements which you did. You presented me with nothing. No numbers to support a 99%+ thesis, no graphs, no demographic studies, NOTHING. Realizing that you can't debate a .gov page with ACTUAL with confirmed reported case numbers, you now conveniently change YOUR proposition from 99% to "well most terrorists are Muslim" and "my 99% figure was just hyperbole." Most doesn't = 99%+ friend and your hyperbole comment speaks for itself.
Again, the NCTC findings on percentages of terrorist perpetrators, page 15.

Anybody going to see the Davinci Code tomorrow?:D That one should make for some real interesting discussion. Mixing a little truth, some disinformation, some fiction and some drama. If it's kept in the perspective of fiction, so be it. However, the author Mr. Brown says that everything in his book is true. If so, what is his point? Could he be under the influence of the anti-Christ?
Let's get this going in another thread.Carl -

I found the book in the "Fiction based on Fiction" section of my local library. I'll be seeing the movie tomorrow. -
The movie's getting pretty bad reviews. One has to wonder if any of those bad reviews are based on a bias against anything non-Christian.
The book was good, but if you take it as anything but fiction with some slight minor fact behind it you're being foolish. All of the folks protesting that movie just don't get the fiction thing. Good thing none of them saw "Dogma."If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -

I saw the buildings collapse. I saw the anguish in the faces of people who lost loved ones. Can someone explain why I need to see a movie about a tragedy I watched intently and in utter horror as it unfolded. Did I miss something? I don't need to see Hollywood's version of this event to clear it up. I know what happened.
Where did you see this? on tv? in person after the fact?SRT For Life; SDA Forever!

Holydoc wrote:Shack, this movie is not for you.
However the simple truth is that humans are a race of amnesiacs. If we do not experience it personally, or write it down, or view it over and over, we have a tendency to forget it. I think our country and our people need these kind of movies to remind us that danger and evil is not just something in the mind of fiction writers. These shows (documentaries) remind us that evil is alive and can come and snatch yours or your love ones life away in a blink of an eye.
Maybe it helps us to remember the dead and mourn their senseless passing. Maybe it reminds us not to be complacent and let down our guard. Or maybe it just reminds us that life can be very short, and we should celebrate it while we are still here to do it.
Some of these movies are not for everyone. But those of us who need to ensure that we, our family, and our friends do not forget will take the time to sit in this movie. Maybe it will disturb some. Make others cry. But it will make everyone remember.
I agree 100%.SRT For Life; SDA Forever!

Everyone who doesn't think that we are at war with Islamic Fascists should see this movie and get reminded what these people are capable of, who started it, and the pain and suiffering it caused.
We are not in Isreal so we don't have to suffer through hundreds of terrorism attempts everyday and have that be a reminder to keep our guard up. nor should we-Just always remember.
I think I like how OS decided to put very little slant or conspiracy into the movie. He did a much better job in this respect than I think many thought him capable of.There is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction. Not sure i'll be seeing this one either. Don't want to forget, just don't want the reminder.

I liked the movie alot. Like United 93, I thought it stuck to the basics, the facts, and most importantly the testimony to those who were there.
Good stuff. -
I thought it was above average.. but I thought the middle of the movie slowed a bit to much.. but ended like I expected.PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

I saw United 93 on the history channel this weekend and it looked to me like it was a made for tv movie....interesting, but hardly what I'd have thought a theater release would ever look like. The one thing that was so weird to me was all the passengers being moved to the back where they ended up all hopping on the phone while the terrorists just stood there watching. I find it hard to believe that any terroist would allow poeple to have a phone, let alone stand in the middle of the isle and make them from their cells......(i know not all were in plain view, but many in that show were).
Stone didn't write this WTC movie.......He simply directed it and was brought on to get it put on film, with a few small tweeks that I'd heard about being made......not major content altering....comment comment comment comment. bitchy. -
On a side note, I listened to Kevin Cosgrove’s 911 call, and it hit me a LOT harder than the WTC exhibit I saw. You could really feel the frustations, helplessness and chaos all in one.

Excellent Shows on 9/11 now on Court TY and History Channel.
Yes, G. Bush was responsible for 9/11.
Yes, G. Bush doesn't care about black people.
Yes, G.Bush caused Hurricane Katrina because he has a Weather Machine.
Anyone else wanna pile on? -

Regarding this PC Movie, Why are not Islamic Terrosist shown as the Mass Murderers? Oh yeah, can't offend anyone.
If the radicals get power in this country, the Evil Movie Makers will be among the first to go as they spread they **** into the Islamic world.
