    No many times folks do not mark a spot on the side to fill oil to. First step is to use water with turkey in pot. Fill till it just covers all the bird with plenty of room at the top to keep from boiling over. Then remove bird mark spot on pot to where water is at without bird, that is max oil you can put into pot.
    Then dry pot and bird bring oil up to temp slowly lower bird into pot.
    Most amateurs forget about weight displacement of oil and just put a jug in and well you see the rest in the video.
