Maybe it's a box set of DVD videos on optics.

I didn't know if it was DVD's or CD's or Blu-rays. They even have a similar box that has mini albums in it.
I couldn't tell what was in there. :/

I have the big format case that has that collection. I think there is a folded case inside to display the seperate discs like you showed when you open it up. :)

I hope some of the other albums hits a cord. ;)

I don't think there is any D&B in their repertoire.

I think this started 40 years ago. Right when I started working 40+ hrs. a week for people and companies later on. people would leave...and nobody was hired in their place. Only the capable workers, like myself, would be asked to help out for a bit. But the bit went on and on and on...

Your fancy high end cables make me jealous.
    I’m stuck with these:
    yj4muvp6ssc7.jpg
The one all the way to the right is for my TT, so I don’t get a choice on not using a dirty cable. I have several I would rather use, but I can’t.

I have the same situation right now with my Technics SL1200 mk2 that's on the top shelf of my rack. It's dinky and cheap RCAs are running into my phono preamp, which then has one of the King Cobra RCA pairs running out of it.

Seems kinda silly to have the cheap crap wire going into the preamp and then an expensive one coming out of it. Meh.

I'm not sure I would describe de-soldering and replacing a TT's integrated/hard wired RCA cable with an aftermarket cable as "fun" or "straightforward", but I suppose we all have different levels of DIY that we're comfortable with.

I’ll try it! May not work out in the end, but I enjoy trying something new from time to time.

I was referring to normal 'interconnects'.
Captive cables on a tt are a somewhat different kettle of fish. Turntables tend to have captive cables for a reason.

Interestingly, Technics felt that the cables that they installed on the SL-1200 were fit for purpose (i.e., suitably low capacitance to minimize treble rolloff).

IF I felt otherwise, and if I felt the need to improve on their cables, I wouldn't hesitate to replace 'em.

I kind of like solderin', though.

I was going to look int one of these KAB replacements where it's already on a new PCB: https://www.kabusa.com/frameset.htm?/m1200.htm

But then I figured why spend $100 on that, instead of just putting that money toward a newer/nicer TT.

The output signal of a phono cartridge (ca. millivolt level in the case of most MM and MI cartridges; ca. 100 microvolt levels for most LOMCs) is delicate. Avoiding unnecessary connections (i.e., "RCA plugs" in lieu of hard-wired cables) is, still, IMO, a best practice.
