Had a doctor appointment earlier today and there's a record shop a few blocks away. Couldn't help going over there afterwards and buying some vinyl!

We are running hot, even for Arizona. About 10-12 degrees above normal this weekend. The pool was a perfect 85 degrees. More triple digits this week in Tucson, which means mid 90's for us.

    That's a pretty bird!

We have this tall wild cherry tree behind the cottage that had a branch break off from a hurricane a long time ago. Through the years, birds have pecked away at the part of the branch that was left and has been nesting in it off and on for years now.

We learned about Great Crested Flycatchers after seeing them nesting in it over and over. There is another pair in it this year. :)
    https://youtu.be/UPwNUuii-ik

They are RARE birds to see. They don't come down from the tree canopies if they can help it. So they don't come to feeders or feed on the ground. They just feed on bugs and things up high in the trees. Ours have that distinct referee's whistle sound for their chirping. It sounds just like a referee's whistle! Very RARE. But if you hear a referee whistle up high in a tree, take a look for that distinct crest on top of their heads. And that yellowish belly.

We also have the privilege of having migrating Cedar Waxwings stopping once or twice a year. They stay up in trees also but they do come down a bit to feed on Mulberries. That's a short bushy tree with thousands of big berries in the summer. They like to flock from tree to tree for some reaso. here is a bunch that decided to come down into our Silver Maple tree one year. With the berries, they will pass a berrie back and forth between themselves. FUNNY to watch!

Cedar Waxwings whistle too. But their chirps are med. length one tone whistles. But when a group are all whistling, you can't help but hear it it's so loud! They fly in groups only. Some med. like 100 or bigger, like 200. We love the avian visitors around here.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

LOL I can drive right down a road in Surrey, Langley and Abbotsford BC called 0 Avenue. If your heading say westbound...the stuff on the other side of the ditch to your left is American soil. I can see some CBP vehicles on the other side once in a while, Granted they probably have an easier job up here than they do on the southern border. In the following photo you can see the flags, each is in it's correct country. This is the Smugglers Inn in Blaine Washington, the photo was taken from Surrey British Columbia. The small boulders denote the 49th parallel.

So why don't you order US gear and have it delivered to the Inn for pickup ;)

Cameras and sensors monitored by both the CBSA (Canadian Border and Security Agency) and the 'Murican CPB. You walk across there and your in trouble no matter what direction your headed. At one point not long ago (few years actually) people would get a room there then at night, walk into Canada thinking they were undetected...NOT! There is a offical border crossing less than 2Km to the west of that place. That said, I don't have a passport and have zero interest in entering the United States until a few things change down there.

For sure you dont want a "ewi" (entered without inspection) on your record. It will cause you years of crief when crossing any US border.
