Call me weird, but I'd take the Triumph...

Ok....weirdo, a 427 Cobra ? Any day, over that British pos. Actually, I like the older Triumphs, great car to tool around in, but reliable they aren't, at least stock anyway.

A lot of folks don't realize there are primarily 2 versions of the Cobra. The early AC Cobra made from a British AC Car's 6 cylinder roadster which Shelby fit a Ford 260 or 289 small block V8 and the later Shelby 427 Cobra built in the USA and fitted with a larger body made specifically for it by the AC Cars Co. imported from Brittan.

Technically there was a third Cobra also built in the US called the Dayton coupe that was a stretched 427 car with a totally new enclosed aluminum body that made it very aerodynamic. The Daytona was good for 200 mph, an improvement over the open roadsters which got loose above 145 mph.
