Somebody capture that man......for Science!
Russ - I am mostly Italian, and you know what they say about Italians...
We get our hairy chests from our mothers!

NOT mine, but kind of on the lizard theme
Jurassic Park is kind of "The Great Escape" for lizards.

I recognize that building!
That campus looks so much better than it did when I was an UG (1970s) -- I mean, it didn't look bad in those days... but the brick sidewalks perked it up considerably.
Yeah, I know we've had this exchange before, but seein' the place (still) makes me a little nostalgic
As a not-unrelated aside: Last week I noted, wryly, that the institution where I currently teach a biotech course in the fall semesters (Northeastern, in Boston) is even now replacing some blacktop sidewalks with brick ones. I thought that was kind of amusing
ahh, well -- back on topic
(the place I spent a fair amount of quality time in the 1980s -- photo taken in late 2011, when I was there for the Saul Roseman memorial symposium)

heh -- you know a scientist is gettin' old when he's using his cane as a pointer
(and, no, that's not me -- yet!)

Lord Vader couldn't subdue her, but the (peri-) Halloween Storm of 2017 did
Fortunately, she was our only casualty overnight. Many in the Northeast, apparently, haven't been so lucky.

The constant hum of wind, branches breaking, and driven rain hitting the house kept the family up all night. The funny part is, i had about a dozen (36-48") pieces of unsecured vinyl siding next to the house. Assumed i would find them scattered throughout the yard/neighborhood. All pieces present and accounted for. Victory!
Damn good thing i mowed the leaves on Friday afternoon...couldn't even see the grass this morning after the damage assessment stroll, early this morning.
Where’s the KABOOM?!?! There’s supposed to be an Earth shattering KABOOM!!! -
Heh, we had guys installin' (more) solar panels on our garage roof all weekend; they managed to finish before it got intense.

I live smack-dab in the middle of one of the worst-hit parts of Vermont. The wind was so intense that when it woke me up, the house was shaking so badly, I thought it was an earthquake.
There is no electrical power at home, so I came to my mother's house until it is restored. Now everybody can make "mother's basement" jokes about me for the next few days, even though she doesn't have a basement. -
