Way cool start em out young, Coco was a percussionist first then learned guitar from Albert Collins, then replaced Walter Trout in the Blues breakers correct? Looks like your grandsons on the right path, to bad John Mayll won't be around when the little guys ready to show his stuff.

You are correct, sir! We love Coco and have had the good fortune to see him a couple of times. Always a great show!

That smile in the first pic says it all, doesn't it? He LOVES music and has sat on my lap since he was born listening to blues. I hope I've inoculated him well enough that maybe he could be one of those to carry on the tradition of that genre? We can only hope.

LOL! Yeah, that would be tragic. That is the original (Verve Records ‎– V6-5008) I bought my junior year in HS. The Beatles album (their second) next to it is a couple of years older and was mailed to me by my aunt from England, where my uncle was stationed in the Air Force at the time.

Been to many concerts by the Velvets but have never found a quality video of them when they started in the 60s. Later reunion video is just ok. Know of any?

That was before the advent of VHS or BetaMax (remember that?) Amateur video was pretty much limited to 16mm. So, unless someone with pro-level gear filmed them, what you seek may not exist. You'd think their association with Warhol would have found them in some decent quality film.

They did, IIRC, the soundtrack for an underground film titled "B-l-o-w-j-o-b" (pardon the hyphons) early on. But, I can't recall if they are seen in it??

As I thought also, I have seen a few short clips of the Velvets that were very grainy. Just hoping. Their music was not played much on FM back then. Never heard Heroin or Waiting For My Man on the radio, ever.
