Just got back from seeing this but before I post a review, let me first **** about all the stupid **** people that go to movies. Ugh! I cant wait to get a house and a dedicated home theater. Ill never go to a theater again! Noisey, inconsiderate ****!

Anyhoo, this was a pretty good movie if youre a fan of the game. It stayed fairly true to the movie but seemed to have more "downtime" than good scary stuff. The ending is totally different from any of the games that I remember which is a cool twist.

What little action there is, is very creepy and the beginning creepy scene is very good and even cause goosebumps!

And this is the first movie I can think of that had a kid in it, where the little brat didnt annoy the hell out of me to the point that I was rooting for her to die! She was a cool kid and never got on my nerves.

The acting was above average, but nothing the Academy will take notice of.

This aint the best movie ever but it is entertaining and anybody that enjoyed the game will enjoy this movie. If youre not a fan of the game you should at least check it out on rental if youre into creepy/horror flicks.

Cool cool, was thinking about seeing it.

I don't like inconsiderate people either.

and I think you meant in the second paragraph. "It stayed fairly true to the GAME" and not the other way around.

Sounds like I will wait for the DVD. How did it compare to the Resident Evil series of movies? I liked them a lot, surprisingly.

I have not been to a theatre in over 10 years. I can't stand the jerks in the audience. It's at home or nothing.

I thought it was 10 times better than the Resident Evil series. While I loved the games, I didnt care much for the movies. This one tho, Im confident most will enjoy.

I saw it after not sleeping for over 24 hours, great movie. I think I got a bit into it though, lets just say I havent been sleeping too good with the light on.:( Because of how impressionable I was when i saw it I give it a 9/10. I plan on watching it again when I am more alert and hopefully I will stop worrying about the little burning babies chasing after me in my room.

Possibly THE worst movie Ive seen in a long time.

    1) Not scary
    2) Horrible CGI
    3) Looked sooooooooooo fake
    4) Horrible acting 80% of the time, only the main characters (Mom, Daughter) were decent.
    5) Dragged ON AND ON AND ON

See, I told you it was a good movie. Sid has possibly the worst taste in movies ever so consider this a glowing endorsement.

This movie sucked big monkey balls.

Im probally the EASIEST person to scare when it comes to movies and games. I love gore, but this movie didnt scare me, not ONCE. I did however feel DUMBER after leaving the theaters and wasting 6 effing bucks.

I watched Ring 2 again when it came out and I must say it must of been the big screen because it sucked.

    Kill Bill sucked too.

Ive seen so many movies, so now when I see movies thats remotely predictable or similar to something else, I pretty much hate it.

I cant wait for alot of movies that are coming out soon though. (TRANSFORMERS, need I say more?) ;)

It looks ok... but if I see it, it will be on DVD. I cant stand Tom Cruise to be honest with you, nothing to do with his standing or anything - I just cant stand the dude.

Yeah! Definitely looking forward to Pirates! But Im reserved about HALO. After they totally RUINED Doom, Im not going to get too excited about Halo. I dont know why they cant make a movie out of a game and it be good.

    Shrek 4

Did I miss something here?? I must have been in hypersleep for Shrek 3, since it doesn't come out till 2007.

    Dang. :D

Hope they don't rush this 3rd one too fast, though I guess there are 3 years between each. Love the first two!

If any of you have watched the Xmen cartoons like I did then you know about the centinals and how they are always trying to kill the mutants. My point is, I hope that this is not the last X-men of the series but I fear that it might be. They have not even told half of the story yet. Maby by the end of the 3rd X-men will half of the story be told. And you still have the phoenix saga to deal with which could take up two hole movies in itself. I really like the X-men but it should be well thought out and planned for a perfect execution like LOTR.

I watched this last night, and I had a hard time following it. I didn't play the games, and the movie unfolds like a game.

As far as the CGI -- some of it was really good, and some of it was really bad. It was more good than it was bad. The artists, or whomever came up with some of the scenes has a great visual imagination. I started getting into it a lot more as the movie went on, and overall I would say that I liked it.

I would say that anyone who doesn't have any interest in video games like this shouldn't see this movie.

I loved the games -- my favorites along with the Resident Evil series. If it captures just a smidge of the atmosphere and visuals associated with the Silent Hill franchise, I'll be in for a treat.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

Yeah, my roommate was huge into the games, and found the movie extra enjoyable. So I hope you like it. I loved the Resident Evil movies, and I played those games a lot.
