OK, if cables make a difference in audio equipment (and I know they do) they've got to make a difference here too. Give it up, what do you guys use? Any difference in a cable for guitar vs a cable for bass? I see Monster has the masses hornswoggled in this arena also

There are several cable companies that make good high quaity Instrument cables. Whirlwind is my favorite. There cables are lifetime warranty and are very quiet. Planet Waves is another good high quality cable thats lifetime warranty.
Most of the lifetime warranty cables are good and quiet. the goal with a guitar / Instrument cable is quiet and well shielded. If you have a noisy cable or a non shielded cabel, get rid of it and get a better cable.
Monster is well respected in the Pro world. they make very high quality cables. I talked to a few guys who switched to Monster and said there rig is quieter and clearer. More dymanic sounding. Pick sound got cleaner.
I currently own Planet Waves but I want to pick up some Whirlwind The Leader Elite. I used them years ago and never had any problems. Other brands I used broke and some where really niosy.

Mogami is my personal favorite. I know Monster bashing is huge around here, but they make some good instrument cable. Without making another huge debate about it here -- your amp, guitar, and pick-ups are far more important than the cable you're using for your guitar.

I use Horizon cables with a lifetime warranty. I've had the three that I use now for like ten years."I got into the music business thinking it was really radical, that it wasn't really a business at all, that it was a lot of people being artistic and creative. Not true, and it made me very depressed."

No cable wars in the pro forums. No one really cares. They talk about it but it's more about high quality and working for long periods of time.

+1
I would love to hear somebody change the sound of their guitar by switching the cable. -

Construction seems really good on Whirlwind, I've got one of their z-cables. -
I think my cable is a whirlwind. Funny, I didn't seem to sound any better after getting it.
Some people like the ones which short when you unplug it to change guitars. Stops the noise. I made my own speaker cables out of audioquest type IV cable.
