Ok so I got the turntable, the separate phono pre-amp.
Everything's hooked up right with the receiver, except the music volume is low and i'm getting noticeable humming.
I assumed it's a grounding issue so i went to RatShack and bought some spades and a grounding wire. They don't have the wire and the guy said I could just use speaker wire. There's a grounding terminal on the back of the pre-amp and another one on the back of the turntable. Do I just connect one end of the speakerwire w/spade on the ground terminal of the turntable and the other one on the pre-amp?

If you want something cleaner, I ordered some replacement gound wires for my 1200's (the spades came off and they were getting frayed) and they accidentally sent me 3 instead of 2. PM me if you want the spare.Gallo Ref 3.1 : Bryston 4b SST : Musical fidelity CD Pre : VPI HW-19
