More Audioquest Upgrades.

Hey all,
I upgraded some more cables from Audioquest in my system to further improve on what I already think is excellent.

I got the NRG-1 for the cablebox. I figured hell why not try to Improve on a killer HDTV picture not to mention shortin up the way to long powercord it comes with. Picture still looks great. I don't know if it did anything but take away the bulk wire.

NRG-2 Powercord for the Rotel rsp1068 preamp. This is also a nice upgrade for a way to long powercable.Hard to say if this did much as I upgraded 2 many different wires at once. But it sound crazy good.

NRG-3 Powercord for the Rotel RMB1095 power amp. I already had a Kimber Powercord here and I'm hoping for some kind of better results. This upgrade was also nice as I had a 4 foot cable and needed a 3 footer. I like that.

YIQ-3 for the Pioneer Elite DVD player. I didn't run it yet for video but I had Mantis built custom Liberity component cable here and it was good quality. This cable has a 6% silver content so according to Audioquest, I should beable to notice a Picture quality difference. We shall see.

VDM-1 Digital coax for the Pioneer Elite DVD player. This cable I believe will do nothing better then what I had. THis is my new attempt on trying out Digital difference. I have done it so many times in the past but hell why not give it another go.

OPLNK-1 for the cablebox. I had a Monster optical cable here and I really like the build quality of the 1 series . It's well built. So was the monster.

HDMI-X series for the cablebox. I had a 2m Monster, it was 2 long. Again digital cable. Who could tell. maybe i can , time will tell.

Jaguar 36 DBS. Man I murdered it. I got the entire amp and pre wired up with them. I got them on CD, SACD/DVD audio and my spare pair I dropped on the VCR. THE cables cost more then the player LOL but it will be nice to burn them there untill I get either Krell 7 channels or add another Rotel amp in the RB1080 or RB1090. I'm also gonna check out there new digital amps. Much smaller and from what I have heard better sound quality.

I have been listening to just Cd and man my system keeps getting better and better. The combo all Audioquest everything is nice. I think this is the first time my system is 99% wired with the same company. I don't think that means much but I like it.But the system is crazy clear and detailed. Powercord upgrades and Interconnect upgrades all at the same time is overwelming. Man I never put this much different wire in my system at one time. I don't know where to begin to demo. I know one thing. I can't stop smiling. I love my system and I think thats more Important then Demoing. The end result here is above my expetations which is hard to do.

Audioquest build very high quality cables. I find them to work very well in my system. I got synergy like a ****. I took me awhile to select all these cables to balance out my system.

I sitll use my Kimber Pk14 and a Transparent S-video cable. One Monster Optical cable left and I use that for the Xbox.

Here is a few pic's

That's crazy. Cool to see any possible weak links removed from a system!

Gotta ask though, did you get mugged by some super smokin' hot audioquest promo chick that swayed you to buy so many cables? ;)

    Dan,

Very Nice. After I read your thread a couple of weeks ago, I bought some Jaguars and a set of Panthers. I have the Panther between my CDP and the pre/pro and the Jaguar between the pre/pro and my Halo. I'm a DBS believer. I bought mine used off the 'Gon. I was told by the seller that he still thinks these cables need to burn in. Audioquest claims no burn in necessary. Since mine were used, no burn in required. What are your observations?

Very nice, Dan! looks like serious investments in cables, and I bet it worths every penny of it. I haven't had the chance to try out Audioquest. My journey with cables stop with MIT for the time being.
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

waaaaaaaaaaaaaa. No man the theater room (finally ) is getting built and I had this money saved for it. I have been saving for years for this time. I'm gonna be buying alot more things like a Projector and screen, sub and center channel. Another pair of rears , another amp to make 7.1 etc.
But getting mugged by a smokin hot chick would be real nice.:D

    schwarcw,
I don't think they do need burn in. When I got my first pair, they sounded incredible right out of the cloth bag(comes with a real nice one with a pull string). They sound no different now and I had them for about a month. My new ones I just installed sound fantastic. Non DBS cable will require burn in. The DBS system is designed to keep the cable burned in.

    polkatese,
MIT is good stuff. When you get around to Trying udioquest, I bet you'll be happy you did.I like em better then Transparent(the level I can afford) and Kimber(level I can afford). The only thing I like better about Kimber is the fact they use WBT ends. I like the twist lock ability. That is perfect. They go on loose and tighten up, then unscrew to rremove. No death grip like Monstercable.

Nice upgrade. I have the same prepro as you. I was wondering if upgrading the power cable would be worth it. I'm also looking into some Kimber cables. My dealer said he could get me a good deal. Really nice pics btw.:)

I don't know if the powercord made a differnce yet. I'm burning in everything at once. In a week or so I will do a demo with the stock cord, a Kimber cord and my new Audioquest cords. It should be fun. Powercord shoot outs are new to me as I only have done a few.

I would suggest trying a powercord upgrade. My system sounds incredible.
