New speaks in tha house
SCompRacer brought a pair of Carver AL III + dipolar loudspeakers last weekend - on loan from fellow Polkie Normanality - for me to audition in my home.
Unfortunately I started coming down with a sore throat the Saturday he dropped them off an later that evening things went from bad to worse. All in all I ended up with a wicked head cold that had my sinus out of whack until yeaterday.
So today will begin my first experience with the Carver's in house - I'd heard them at SCompRacer's but his room is completely different than mine so the speakers don't sound the same there as they do here. I should also mention that the mad scientists mentioned above did some upgrading to these speakers before they arrived here. The skimpy 18AWG internal wiring was upgraded to 11.5 Cardas and the stock woofers were chucked in favor of some Infinity Kappa's - 1040's I think.
Since today is my first day with them I'll listen for a while and post my impressions later.
