Drawing blank on the song title, but the album from it originates...."Tunnel of Love"....is a very underrated masterpiece.
Thanks. Found it. Name of the song is "One Step Up".
I have gotta get some music by Bruce. Definitely classic American rock!:D -
I want to buy a few Classic Rock CD's, but know nothing about titles or anything... Only familar with songs that I hear on the radio... (101.1 the FOX in KC, and the such...)
What are you favorite Classic Rock CD's/Albums?
I love the Eagles, and songs like, "On the Road again,"... As you can tell, I'm from the Younger generation, and don't know many of the artists!!!
What would you recommend for my listening pleasures?

Haven't read through this thread yet (though I definitely will!), so I hope this isn't a repeat, but...
The Black Crowes - Shake Your Money Maker
EDIT - Just did a quick search on them and found out they're definitely too new to be classic rock...had no clue...but they're still a great choice!George Grand wrote: »

Wow, haha. Apparently I HAVE read through this thread before. Just re-read it...and at least this time I recognized Turn the Page right off.
Glad you're enjoying the music, MrNightly. I think I should start expanding my music collection again, as well...George Grand wrote: »

Cranked out to some Who and Boston tonight... man.. those are some awesome musics!
I am kinda overwhelmed with the lists people throw up here... I am not a heavy rock lover... so I am little leary at first of just buying something and kinda hating it.
Although... watched "Yes Man" tonight and there were several rock songs on there that I just loved.... can't name them though. The opening scene and one toward the end. Anybody know the band??Honoured to be, an original SOPA founding member

SVS PB12-NSD/2 - sub

Hmmm a google search reveals that most of the music on the soundtrack is from the Eels... I have never heard of them. And I don't think that was the opening band number, but what do I know.
Anyone ever heard of the Eels?Honoured to be, an original SOPA founding member

Wow, someone who actually knows about Mahagony Rush, and Nektar!!
...that goes waaay back for me - still got the vinyl.
Ok, how about Pat Travers (awesome live performer).
Or Contraband.
Ten Years After
And while not truly 'classic rock', a very underrated power/art rock band - Wireless (Positively Human, Relatively Sane).

Frank Marino tried to emulate Hendrix IIRC.
Yeah - If I can recall from the smoky haze of my memory....he was knocked out...by a chunk of Mahogany...and woke up with the talent to emulate Hendrix...hence the name of his band.
At the time - a decent diversion with some catchy riffs.
I saw him in concert with Sabbath...oh...back in the late 70s.

Nektar performed the entire album of Remember the Future and a bunch of songs from Tab in the Ocean in 2005 in front of a crowd of about 300. Outstanding concert.SDA SRS 2.3TL's

I not familiar with them at all.I think Mahagony Rush were from the Montreal area?
Not sure about Mahogany Rush's origins but Ironhorse was Randy Bachman from BTO fame.
You Gotta Let Go was a big hit here in St. Louis in 1979-80

IMO, truly under-rated classic rock, but not forgotten, The Kinks, "you really got me gonna now"
-
Certainly not all music produced and recorded in the sixties and seventies was bad. I have a live recording of BB King "Live at The Reagle Theater", recorded in 1964 that is fantastic IMO. But like stated many times in this forum, music is a very subjective thing, and each person has there own particular tastes.
I could add a few to some greats already mentioned;
Tapestry-Carol King
Back in Black- AC/DC
