So, what's the John Cooper S package?

I think the Minis are awesome little cars. I personally wouldn't have one as my main car simply because it is front wheel drive.

I'll be very curious to see what the BMW 1 or 2 series brings, when and if they come. I would assume their will be some similarities.

Lucas automotive electonic parts were some of the most unreliable pieces of crap ever put in to a vehicle. The stuff in Yogos would be an upgrade.

Lucas was responsible for much of the electronics/ignition components in the older British marques and they were notoriously troublesome and rarely worked properly even when you had a brand new car. My parents actually drove an MG cross country to Vegas for their honeymoon in 1963. Never had any serious troubles. How I'll never know. My Dad is/was a good mechanic so he probably fixed things along the way. :D

Chevrolet HHR. A pathetic, lame attempt to copy the PT Cruiser. No, I don't guess they attempted to copy it...but they sure succeeded at it. I think it's nothing less than disgusting that Chevy so blatantly made a clone of the PT Cruiser. Not only did they take Chrysler's idea, it's practically (cosmetically) the same car! All you have to do is take a PT Cruiser, slap the bowtie grill and headlights on it, and you have an HHR! Pathetic!

Yep, the Tiger was the Ford V8, but it was a 260 I believe. The Alpine was an inline 6, I think. I'm pretty sure that there was a lesser 4 cyl model, too.

The Element is a well thought out vehicle, designed for utitlity vs looks. I will say that it is something you either love or hate. My wife hated them till she drove one. Now she loves it. She gets more questions about it than any car she's ever owned. She gets somebody wanting to see it at least once a week. The plastic corners were being painted solid body color quite a bit so Honda started offering factory sheet metal vs plastic.

    large17.jpg

It's a pretty cool truck. Drive train is exactly the same as the CR-V and is pretty much bullet proof. Tons of interior room and very versatal. I hate SUVs....but this one is ok. 23-24 mpg. Cruse all day at 80+ mph.

I won't deny it's good quality, and useful vehicle. I mean honda doesn't build junk, but I'm just saying I can't stand the styling. The painted sheet metal helps, but not much.

Early Tigers had the Ford 260, but starting in 1967 they used the 289 from the Shelby Cobra. They used a 289 until production ceased in 1969. The 289's are the gems and are the most sought after of the Tigers.

Couple of pics. The first is an Alpine, the second is a 1967 Tiger with a 289.

Well, that neighbor of yours is crazy. No telling how much power he has under the hood of that Cobra, but I'll bet it's enough to light up those rear tires at will! And given the fabulous lines of the Cobra, I'd never want to drive a Mini when a Cobra was available!
