Polk LSi's?
Hi guys,
Well first i'd like to apologize for my question in here. Its just that im really eager and so wanting to here some feedback again.
" Just wanted to know if anybody here had a chance to hear something new about the new upcoming LSi line? "besides have new 6.5" woofer and possibly new box design" I know theres a thread already telling that it might come up by 2007. Well, is it going to be released by that time, or are they just going to start the production by that year? If ever there a chance of upgrading from the bookshelves to the LSi 15's should one grab it or is it better to wait awhile for some news for year 2007 as per the "New Lsi line?
Thanks guys,
Ric

I know nothing of the new lSi line but the current Lsi line is so good, I wouldupgrade to the Lsi15's from the 7 or 9 allday long.

My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -
I have the 9 and 15. both perform very well and have a great overall sound. the 9's have alot of bass for a bookshelf, and the 15's...well...they have a lot of bass period. Of course, the mids and highs are sweet too, so the LSi to me is just a great all around performer. I have heard some say the bass is a little bloated and disjointed compared to the 9. from hearing both, I can hear what they speak of a little in some recordings, but not near enough to take away from the +'s of the 15. smooth and effortless from top to bottom. For the 15, if you dont have at least 300 watts into 4 ohms, you'll need it. You WILL be rewarded for it
my 15's took the 500 watts from my carver without breaking a sweat. They are now used in my theater with 300 watts from the outlaw monoblocks I just got.Living Room 2 Channel -

oh, regards to the new line, I have heard nothing. its not out of the scope of possibility, but when a bunch of us toured the factory in last year's polk fest, they showed us a lot of new inwall technology based off the LSi drivers. I pesonally couldnt see them dumping $ into that R&D then switching drivers that soon.
however, I did hear one of the Polk guys mention future drivers would be based off the 6.5" SR series car audio driver too, so who the hell knows. If there is a change, I would guess 2008+, not 2007, but that is a pure guessLiving Room 2 Channel -

I talked to several people (some on the phone even) and they told me 2007.... not sure where they got it, but I'm only as accurate as my sources. Could be 2007, could be later.

BTW: - "oshkigod" did mentioned that a rated 300W or so at 4ohms is good for the LSi 15.
- Joey_v, a friend of mine recommends the Rotel 1080 w/c im sure is a good match for it. but in regards with buget, and im here in the philippines, i btw have two other options that would be around the same price as of the amps.
1) the NAD c272 stereo amp rated at 150/ch but 300w in mono use at 8ohms. i could purchase 4 of them using 2 in monoblock config for each LSi15, 1 in bi-amp mode for the center and the last for the surrounds... or,
2) the Anthem MCA50 rated at 225w/ch at 8ohms and 370w/ch at 4ohms.
"pls. take note that any of the options would be at around the same price as for the proposed 1080 and 1075 rotel combo..."
-anyone want to comment on the options above...? GOOD or BAD?
thank you so much guys for all the help and support!!!

bridging with the LSi's is usually a no no, unless the amp is specifically rated to run bridged into 4 ohms, and I cant think of any that are.
the NAD plan will work, but do a horizontal biamp on the mains instead of bridging, the amps will thank you
I would lean toward that Anthem. 370 into 4 ohms?, hell that will definitly get the job done, and while I never heard an Anthem amp, if I liked it as much as my Anthem pre, its a damn good product.
have funLiving Room 2 Channel -
