Iowa losing was a heartbreaker, but Kansas losing was the tonic to make me feel better. Too bad North Carolina and UConn couldn't have joined them. ;)

Well, my 2 teams did decent last night. I'm a Murray State grad, and we stayed in the game pretty well loosing by 4 to NC. Then my KY Wildcats pulled out a victory over UAB. :)

The person leading the nation has only missed the Iowa game so far. He also has Iowa going no further, so he's got all of his Sweet 16, Elite 8 and Final Four teams left.

And the fellow tied with him only missed with Syracuse, which he had losing to LSU in 2nd round...

Long way to go yet, both nationally and with Club Polk...

Great tourney so far though...two buzzer beating, baseline fade away threes for wins, and plenty of heart palpatations for the fav's.

For the most part I think that the selection committee has once again been vindicated.

Great game... LSU was sloppy, but too athletic. They put on an awesome show.

I gotta tell ya....I've been a basketball fan all my life. Moreso than any other sport. I've played since I was 8 all the way through college. As exciting as the games tonight were...I am really beginning to dislike what the game has become. F***ing "roller derby" without skates. It's even gone beyond "no blood - no foul". When a shooting foul IS called ...75% of the time the contact is initiated by the offensive player. Refs won't call a handcheck as long as the ball handler still has all his fingers. I've finally figured out why there is never a 3 second call in the lane....Most of the refs can't figure out what comes after "2". Oh yeah....how about the "crossover dribble"? We can thank Mr. Air for that move. With the move most of these guys have, the only thing that could be considered more of a carry is if they put the ball in a backpack and slung it over their shoulder. Don't even get me started on walks... I could go on longer...but I digress. And BTW this isn't about "my teams" not winning since I'm in the top 2 spots right now. It's just that this old gym rat doesn't much like what the game has evolved to.

End of rant (for now). Back to your regularly scheduled programing.

Maybe "Mr. Top 2 Spots", should become a ref... ;)

Funny thing is, it seems to me that I'm seeing the "normal" amount of traveling calls and even more palming calls than usual.

It's the physical nature of the game that bothers me more. I think we've become accustomed to what they are doing (palming, traveling) over the last 10 years or so. I have done a little "rec league" officiating...however there, they are actually lucky if they can dribble the ball, much less execute a crossover dribble....:D

Yuppers... many years ago a neighbor's son's, youth league team was stuck for a coach, so I did it. I had one dribbler, one shooter, one rebounder and a few "other" kids to whom I preached defense.

    Great fun...

Well, if last night bothered you, I hope you had other things to do tonite.

BC v. Villanova had more rough no-calls than any three other games in this year's tourney. And while Uconn v. Washington is better, it's not by much...

Looks that way...a quick review appears to indicate that no one can catch me as none of the contenders have any way to score any more points.

As a side note, I can't believe the top two leaders playing the ESPN game actually picked THIS Final 4
