    Aagghhh, the dream sequence!!!

The last Sopranos dream sequence that I enjoyed was the one with the talking fishhead (I think that was after Big **** went "swimming").

I understand that this season needs time to develop, but man, last night's episode could have been cut down to about 5 minutes.
I did like how AJ tells coma-Tony that he's going to kill Junior. That could lead to some nice gangland war if the New Jersey crew assumes that it was Johnny Sack's crew in NY.

Anyway, HORRIBLE episode last night..... but I'm still hooked on The Sopranos.

I have to agree with you. I hate dream sequences. One of the worst episodes yet. After this long a hiatus and that season opener, I thought this season was going to blow us away. Hopefully next week will put us back on track for some action.

Boy, another stellar episode. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. All this time.....sleeping-smiley-015.gif......I thought I wanted to see mafia stuff, I was wrong. Im much happier watching the 450 pound Tony, drooling on himself with tubes stuck all over him while he has some stupid dream about losing a brief case. Cant wait til next weeks episode.

Well, they did whack those guys and he did wake up, he prob. lost some weight with feeding tube in him, still I agree Mac, kinda sad. I would rather watch Ms. Skinny Bones.

The Sid gets sick thing was a bit of a twist, setting up for a war within.

I missed the first 15 minutes or so of it so apparantly I missed some good mafia action. Ill watch it again tonight. Maybe it was better than I thought.

Hopefully it will pick up soon. Theyve given me 3 great seasons and 1 good season so far so I owe them a little loyalty.

The dream sequences all tie in to things in season past and are obviously setting up for episodes to come....

Stick with it there are a lot of things about to start happening, it seems to be picking up speed.

    +1.
I think they feel that they have a little bit of goodwill built up and they can take some time and develop a story line. I hope thats what it is. I also think they want to be thought of as more than just a mafia show. Maybe they have been reading to much of their own press. I'm pretty sure that we have not seen the last of the Columbians. And I can't wait to see Vito sleep with the fishes

Are you guys watching the same show?

Honestly, Ep 2 wasn't great, but I thought this one was really good. They spent maybe 10 minutes in Tony's dream sequence, the rest was your typical Sopranos. It's not all shoot em up mindless bull, it rarely is, otherwise it woudl be like every other nonsense show on TV. The reason the Sopranos is good is because they mix realistic drama with the mafioso action.

You guys musta been watching some other show for the past 5 seasons. Or do you jsut go get snacks everytime someone's not gettin' shot in the face?

Come on Bob, you don't think that the show has changed last season and this season? While I understand and agree that the Sopranos is different and thats what makes it special, I also see a change in the way they pace the show and the character development. I enjoy seeing the main characters portrayed as real people (mental illness, asthma) but I also enjoy a show that doesn't have me looking at my watch. I will admit though, that my expectations may be too high and that may be skewing my judgement. Well I guess we will see how it all plays out. I guess I can get my violence from 24 if I have to;)

They are definitely building up suspense so far this season. You saw some true colors come out last night with Paulie not wanting to give Carmela any of her "cut." The entire ice on the balls was too funny. The irony of his balls getting busted and how big of balls did he have to stand up to Sil for a few moments.

Sil's stress at being the temporary "boss." A real world situation there that we can all relate to when we have to step up in our own personal lives. On a side note... who the heck drinks coffee on the crapper??

That last scene with Tony going to the "hotel." The imagery of "giving up the suitcase" like giving up his life. He held on tight.

I wasn't an English major in college but vaguely remember some of the things that I learned that the Soprano writers are putting into the show. Metaphors, imagery, irony, vicarious events... It isn't all about blood and guts all of the time and that is why the show is so great and loved by all types of people.

Things are about to come to a head for sure. The suspense is definitely there.

Paulie is old school from the days of Junior and the like...

He has been this way from the beginning.

The one that has it coming to him is Vito, lost 50lbs and getting a little arrogant...

Well another waste of an hour.

Lets see here, in case you missed the episodes so far here is what is happening this season.

    1) Vito is ****
    2) Tony got shot and had a stupid dream
    3) Vito is ****
    4) Paulie found out about his mom
    5) Vito is ****
    6) Bush is responsible for Hurricane Katrina
    7) Vito is ****

Why dont they change the name of this to "The Vito Show"?

This is by far the worst season yet. I will continue to watch the rest but hold out little hope of them getting any better.

I thought that tonights show was more of a comedy. The dialogue and the way it was written had me laughing a couple of times. The scene with Finn and the boys at the butcher shop was hilarious. The indignation and what theses guys find offensive and what they give a pass to is fun to watch. But they could start the mobster stuff anytime and that would be allright.

I agree tonights show was comedic. I did enjoy the levity of it though. Things are running a tad slow so far this season, but they are setting the stage. I watched a piece on the show and the creator wants to take the charachters to a very logical end place based on the choices in their lives. I think the train will derail violently in the coming months. They are slowly seeding a great deal of dissent into the families. There are some deep divisions of opinion on very fundamental concepts. I think the slow developing first couple episodes are leading to some violent dissention within the families.
    I sure hope so. :)

Last night was slow, but funny. I laughed out loud when the crew found out that Vito was the catcher, not the pitcher, in the Jeep with the security guard.
Anyway, the only reason I can think of as to why they're focusing so much screen time on Vito, is becase maybe Vito will somehow make a preemptive strike at Tony and/or one of the Captains?? He knows that he's got a bullseye on his back, so why not??

Anyway, like most of the other seasons, it starts off with slow development, then ends with a bang.

I realize the writers are trying to be artistic and all that hippy crap but they need to remember that we're watching this show to see a bunch of gangsters doing gangster ****. I want to see them banging chicks, shooting people, ripping people off. I dont watch this show for either art or a good homosexual love story.

You may only watch it for one reason, but I doubt the whole world agrees with you. What a load of crap the Godfather must have been for you, having to watch all of those boring scenes with relationships and non-gangster ****. THe reason the Sopranos set themselves above the pack was because they presented their "gangster ****" in an "artistic" and interesting way. Any schmoe can slap togehter a bunch of retards with New York accents and guns and keep a monkey entertained for an hour a week, it takes a little more to acutally make a good show.

Seriously, calling everyone a hippy is getting a little old, isn't it?

The Godfather was one of the best movies of all time! It also didnt devote half of the movie to a 300 pound homosexual and showing him in a Village People outfit making out with some dude!

Nor did it waste 30 minutes at a time on some stupid dream sequence that never makes any sense. Talking fish?

And yeah, the Sopranos started out with an artistic view on gangster ****, which is cool because it was still about ganster ****! Now its Brokeback Goombah!

And yeah, I get that the whole world doesnt agree with me. But that doesnt mean I shouldve voice my **** with the show. Nobody is saying this show sucks, just that these first few episode arent living up to the standards set by the previous 5.

Seriously, being a dick in every post is getting a little old, isnt it?
