NOTE: *The review is on hold but planned for this month*

SVS PB12-ULTRA/2 - Piano Gloss Black

I've had this beast for a couple weeks and meant to post a couple pics....here they are. It's alot of fun and 3x as much subwoofer as I really need....which means, perfect.

I met Ron Stimpson, Erik Kroner, Jim Farina, Stephen Ponte and Rob McNabb at CES '06. What a GREAT bunch of guys, very animated to talk about gear...especially subwoofers. Ron & Erik are actually big SDA fans, although both have sold them awhile ago....and Ron regrets it to this day. Anyways, more about that experience in the review....

The signatures on the plate amplifier are Erik Kroner(SVS Engineer), Ron Stimpson(Co-Founder) and Tom Vodnahel(Founder).
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

An excellent choice. Do they sign all of them, or only by request?

I ordered one in rosewood finish on yesterday. :D

DK - I asked them after CES if they would sign it at the next team meeting the beginning of March. I think they got a kick out of it or at least I hope they did, as it was more out of respect for the product and their commitment than for any other reason.

I saw a couple examples of the wood finish at CES as well, absolutely beautiful. They look so much better in person....very nice choice Raife.

A subwoofer that was only 2x more than his house needed! :D

Looks great. SVS finally has the looks to match the performance.

It's replacing a PB12-ISD. It's an increase in SPL and a little cleaner in output...but I also wanted something more finished and furniture like.

    Thanks gang for the comments.

I'm working on it Russ, damn you.

    How's the dog digging it?

I'll be picking up the single driver version to place nice with the maggies. Have you tried that yet?

The dog isn't cool with the subwoofer. The next sub in the Magnepan setup will be the baby SVS, or dual babies.

Trying to decide whether I should go SVS PB12+/U/2.... or something along the lines of a used Velodyne DD15/18.
