The prices of SDA on Ebay sure seems to hold it's value. It allways pays to baby your speakers. I have seen other brands of high end speakers from the same era such as B&W, Theil and Kef that don't hold their value as much. I dig my my new LSi's but I doubt they will hold their value like my SDA's. Nothing like an great american classic.

    Yeah,

Aside from the good resale value, I think it's great that you can still get parts and support for 20 year old speakers!

I think a great design and use of long lasting materials is the key to SDA longevity. Imagine if polk had not used rubber surrounds. There would be tons of them sitting around with their cones flapping in the wind. I think the other key factors are real wood endcaps (they stand up to abuse), mostly material wrapped bodies (allow them to look the same after 20 years) and stature (it's easy to get rid of a bookshelf speaker but you have to give some real thought to removing 200 pound refrigerator sized boxes).
