Just curious how some of you clean your TV screens?
I was told never to use a Windex type product ect. So what is best?

Yup windex sucks on screens. i used it to clean my computer monitor and it weakened some clear coat that was on the screen. eventually the clear coat began scratching off. I used my extended warranty to get a new monitor but it was still a pain in the ****.

unless you blew your nose on your monitor, you could probably get dust off by just wiping it with a sock or something soft.

Audioquest makes a cleaning kit like the Monster screen cleaner. It comes with a Micro fiber towel and jell cleaner. It's very good and doesn't scratch your screen. Both kits are worth picking up.

I use the Audioquest screen cleaning kit on all my screens and sun glasses.

Professional window cleaners don't use a Windex type product. They use dishwasher soap. The guy that does my windows suggested a drop or two of any liquid dishwasher soap in a bucket, add another drop or two of Jet Dry. Use a clean cloth to wash and wipe dry. Works like a champ!

We were given the monster cleaner for free when we bought our TV. I did see the same thing but sold by Phillips at Walmart for about 10$

I have a "dedicated" chamois that I use on my audio/video gear. It doesn't scratch plastic displays, and leaves no dust attractant behind.

Believe it or not, go to Pep Boys or Aytozone and go to the aisle where the terry cloth towels and such are. Black Magic (a company like Armor All) sells cloths for dusting, buffing and windows. I use the dusting cloth and it works great. Usually never a need for water even with my 17 month olds fingerprints. But if need be, just a drop of warm water on the cloth. It works great.

I was told to just use a standard microfiber cloth to clean mine. (no cotton t-shirts or other cloths - just microfiber.)
