I am running speaker wire about 45 feet to another room from my home amp. What size wire do I need to run?

I would use the 12 guage speaker wire from Lowe's or Home Depot. About $ 0.45/ft.Carl

Yeah, for that length you need to go at least 14 gague. Folks at places like CC and BB will tell you 16 is ok, but I don't buy it.Harman Kardan AVR 630

I'm using 12 gauge wire from Home Depot for some 60ft runs to the mains and center channel and am very happy with it.____________________________________________________________

stranded speaker wire for about 40 cents a foot.
Good deal, and very good wire.
Search the forums for banana plugs. I posted some plugs that I got off of Ebay that are military grade, built-like-a-tank plugs.
Put 'em together, and you're good to go.Sal Palooza
