SVS PB-12/2 Ultra! Are these your only choices, I think you might want to expand your horizons and look into SVS or HSU? I auditioned both actually at Tweeter the other day and all I could do was laugh, but I have dual PB-Ultra's which makes a little difference.

The minivee is a nice little woofer. It's musical and strong. The new flat finish is also very well done. For the money it's a very nice sub woofer.Nothing wrong with this little sub. Actually I like it.
The Polk psw1000 they don't sell. I have no experience with them.Dan
My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -
hey there...haven't been able to compare them side by side...in fact i haven't listened to a velo sub in 4 years. here's what i DO know:
i just got the PSW 1000 direct from polk. replaced my PSW 650, which is a monster of a sub. what i have noticed about the 1000 it is very smooth and much more accurate for music than the 650 ever was. also, the 1000 is shaking my entire place to the ground! i played the clip from "return of the king" with the war elephants and i have never heard a sub go so low. martini glasses and bottles of booze began to shake before i even HEARD anything! it is an incredible sub, however, i do not have much experience with many other manufacturers except for klipsch, energy, velo, sunfire, and def tech. so i guess you can take this for what its worth then! have fun...:cool:Jeff Rowland CAPRI | Yamaha RX-V3800 | Jeff Rowland Model 6 Mono Blocs | Technics SL1200 MKII | Shure V15VxMR w/ JICO Stylus | Sony SCD-XA5400ES | Monster HTS 2600 | Polk Audio LSi 15 w/VR3 Fortress Mod | REL T/9 x2 -
I'll have to tell you that when it comes to subs I would have to say go with Velodyne.......Don't get me wrong I the LOVE POLK sound, and I am happy with my RTi10's (for now) but Velodyne is creme la creme when it comes to subs unless your intending on forking over major quid
For the record, I actually had the opportunity to listen to both one after the other before I bought mine (Velodyne DPS-12) and there wasn't even much of a comparasion. Believe me, everyone one in my apartment complex knows when I'm watching a movie! ...My walls shake, my floor trembles and my neighbours all hate me! lolPolk Audio RTi10
Polk Audio RTi4
Velodyne DPS-12B
Harmon/Kardon AVR235
CSi5 (Looking to purchase)
My neighbours love me....
