They're Russian in origin. Which factory? I don't recall.

I can't complain about the pair I got for under $20 shipped. So far, just as good as any newer production tubes I've tried. YMMV

People seem to forget that tube re-branding has been going on since the beginning, nothing new here. I have vintage Amperex tubes with Mullard labels, Siemens with CBS labels, RCA with Raytheon labels and so on.

So, if they're labeled Mullard, CBS, and Raytheon, how can you tell they're Amperex, Siemens, and RCA?

my point is why pay premium for gt's if at the time they are jj's when you can just buy jj's at a lower price.

I'd say that 2 6DJ8 GTS for less than $20 shipped to my door wasn't paying any sort of premium and I doubt very seriously that the ones I have are JJs anyway. The design of the ones I have look alot like Amperex with halo getters.

if they are buying from multiple vendors then you won't know what brand tubes you are getting untill you get them and even then you won't know if you don't know what you are looking at. make sense?

You pay the premium for GT, Ruby etc, because they only select the best of the best, of whatever run at the time. I have NEVER had a GT or Ruby fail, and their matching is premium matching, not your run of the mill single test.

They do buy from multiple vendors, but they will label each run differently with a specific designation.

    Cheers,
    Russ

You just have to be careful who you buy tubes from online. I got my GTs from Vintage Electronics.
