You folks do realize that not every volume knob is the same right?

I go to -6 to -12 on mine... but I garuntee you its not the same as yours.

Around -10 from Reference for Movies, -6 if I am feeling frisky

Right at -18 for normal SD TV stuff...Like Lost.

If we both calibrated with a reference disk and spl meter (from listening position), they should be the same volume at listening position. (reguardless of speakers, amps, source, etc.)

That is the whole point in calibrating.

For most DVD movies -10 dB but 0 dB for movies with great soundtracks.
0 dB calibrated to be 75 dB at my listening position.

Mine goes +8 to -74, but I set it to where it only goes to 0 to -74.

The loudest I go - with excellent recordings is -10 on the knob.
