A couple of things to try:

    1) switch the tweeter with the other speaker to see if it follows-you may have already tried this, but can't tell for sure.
    2) polyswitches may be bad-order new ones from Polk(best to replace both at the same time)

i switched the whole cabinet or wires on the cabinet.
i`ve been reading alot on those poly switches,i would like to know if their is a whole upgrade kit,for those and the crossover/tweeters.that way i would have all the right parts.
i`ve used the search but i find alot of thread jumping and mainly on the big ones.
p.s. the srs`2 have two tweeters in each, and neither of them work in one cabinet.i`m sick

I believe there will be one per tweeter.

I haven't replaced any myself, but I don't believe it is very difficult.

Before you try the polyswitch problem, make sure your tweeters work. Other than trading them with the other tweeters, you can take each tweeter out of the cabinet and attach speaker wire directly to your tweeter's terminals. Make sure your receiver/pre is off and the volume is completely turned down. After making the connections, turn your receiver on and very slowly, increase the volume knob. If the tweeters do work, then you will hear at least some sound. If not, then it is time to replace the tweeters.

Which brings me to another point, that you might consider replacing all the tweeters with the new silk dome replacements available through Polk. They are supposed to be quite a bit "tamer" in the higher frequencies.

I've seen only one polyswitch in the crossover board, even ones with multiple tweeters. They lie directly in the signal path going to the tweeter circuit on the crossover board. Small, flat circuliar, yellow-orange type color. Call Polk Customer Service for Polyswitches.

It sounds like your tweeters may be cooked. If the problem follows the tweeters, pretty good sign they are bad. I think these tweeters are SL2000. Using some for sale in the Flea Market. About $20 each. Polk replacements $48 each

pulled the top tweeter out and hooked it up to speaker wire,it works,so would that most likely be a poly switch or crossover problem.
(hooked it up in a whole differnt system)

Sounds like a Polyswitch to me...assuming none of your friends at the party played a joke to you taking the jumpers off the binding posts :)

    Scott,

Get the polyswitches and a schematic for your speakers from Polk CS; both should be free of charge. With the schematic, you'll know what resistors/caps you need for a full crossover rebuild. get them and make the whole rebuild/upgrade. If you don't want to do it yourself and don't have anyone that can do it......it's a 3 1/2 hours drive to Mason :)
