Did I go wrong?

After I purchased my Axiom audio speaker system, some time ago, I thought it might be a good idea to upgrade my AVR. I ended up replacing my Yamaha HTR 5280 with a Denon AVR 1083 via ecost. Initially, I thought that this would be the crowning jewel of my system, but instead it made me question whether I had made a wrong turn somewhere. After calibration, the Denon just didn't seem to be doing it for me. It felt like a downgrade soon after, and I eventually went back to the Yamaha. Somehow, I felt like I could have done better and I'm still not sure why the Denon made my speakers sound so lackluster. "What's the buzz, tell me what's happenin'".

I think in general Yammies sound brighter than the Denons, so it might be your tone preference.
But it might be an issue with the Denon, consider taking it in for a check.More later,
