I was just watching Wayne's World on cable and when he's in the music store buying the Fender, he play's Stairway to Heaven. Then the guy points to the sign that says "No Stairway to Heaven". But it wasn't Stairway he was playing (it was just a couple of crappy notes)! :eek: Does any have the DVD? Did they do that on there too?

(I was very disappointed. I was actually waiting for that scene. I was cleaning my basement and stopped just to hear that line [it's a classic]).

    The "Stairway to Heaven" guitar riff was changed for the international, cable, and videotape releases to a generic riff because of disputes in obtaining rights to the first five notes of the song, which appear only in the US theatrical release.

    That sucks. Does anyone know if the Theatrical release is available? I don't think I would ever buy the disk if it didn't have the rift.

    It's just that it was one of my favorite lines in the movie (I have a "no stairway" sign hanging in my band room). The joke doesn't mean much when the don't play the riff. (I think they also cut something else, I don't remember what it was, but I remember what he said wasn't what I remembered, and his lips didn't match the words).
