Well, based on the results of the poll.....we shouldn't hear too many complaints on this forum about losing an item on E-bay due to a sniper..... ;)

I bid in the last few seconds, being the woods and having flakey dial-up has cost me some items. I never bid early, I don'y understand why anyone bids early, unless you know you won't be around to bid at the end of the auction.

I like to limit the other bidders re-thinking their max bid. If you out bid them early and they have time to think "well maybe I can go another 50.00" that's where I see early bidding costing you more for the item.

Quit sugar coating it, Russ... Eff 'em... It doesn't matter how you lose, or win, an auction. Get over it.

Appears there are enough of us who gloat and toast a good snipe to make up for them. however.

Sniper here, too. I've done the thing where I put in my max bid when i first see the auction and inevitibly, some jackass works it about halfway up to it two days before the auction is going to end then loses interest. The snipe will get you a somewhat lower price on a low-demand item- you just gotta know when to walk away.

when it ends when im at home, ill snipe, otherwise, ill just put a max bid and hope. When I snipe I usually do so within 2 seconds of the end of the auction...no software, just a 5mb internet service:D
