I am looking for a 42" - 50" size. And what are the best ones on the market for around $2000?

You will not get into a 42 let alone 50 for 2 grand. But if you looking for a great plasma that don't cost alot, then check out Panasonic. they make the very best budget plasmas on the market.

    Go to your local Tweeter

Sams Club has an Akai 50" HD plasma for $1999

Edit: It is the ONLY one on the market for that price. :)

I'm a Panasonic fan as well. Bought my RPHDTV over 5 years and it still looks fantastic. You may be able to go DLP for $2000 (but that may be tight), but you won't get the greatest plasma at for that. Check Sears (on-line), they seem to have good prices on TVs.

The pro-level Panny's come in at $2k, but they have no tuner, no PIP, no DVI or HDMI, no speaks, no stand or mount and you'll probably have to pay shipping form an on-line source.

I don't need most of that stuff, so I'm getting one with a wall-mount and shipping. I'll pick up a DVI card once the funding builds back up.
