"Hey Honey...Let's go drive to Georgia to pick up a pair of used speakers..."

    "why?"

"Because I have a cs400i center channel and I need the RT series to match the timbre"

Hi guys, haven't posted here before, but I have a fellow AVS forum member who has posted here regularly. Anyway, there is this listing on craigslist.com here in Los Angeles. The guy seems like a bit of an idiot on the phone (and is not very good at answering e-mails). He told me he had two RT35i for sale, but the picture showed a floorstanding model. I asked him to "clarify". He said the speakers in the picture where for sale, but he didn't know what they were. I offered him $100, thinking they were RT600i. He said OK. On the phone, he tells me "you have to plug them in to an outlet. One of them, when you plug it in, the green light doesn't come on". He didn't even know he must have RT1000i or RT2000i (I am guessing here). Anyway, I researched the issue and decided:

    (a) He has a blown fuse: no big deal.
    (b) He has a problem subwoofer amp: a really big deal.
    (c) Something else (don't know if it's a biggie or not).

Anyhow, I was wondering: if he didn't connect the LFE from the 1st speaker (the one that's connected to his AVR) to the 2nd, would the green light not come on? Anyhow, it was a bit far away for me to go and check them out with L.A. traffic, but I though somebody else might be interested, so here it is FWIW. If you are really nice about it, you might convince me to go check them out for you at some later stage.

Thanks guys. Sorry that my first post has to be such an oddity.
