Pushed you over the 1,000 posts hump, that's good!!

It's an awesome deal. Thanks for reminding everyone. :D

Edit: Actually, some CD + DVD titles are $5.99 at yourmusic.com....for example, the new remastered Power Station album. $5.99 for a CD and a DVD is unbelievably good.

It became twice as good a few months ago after the Columbia and BMG merger. A lot of the back catalog from Columbia Records became available on Yourmusic because of this merger, and it seems they're continually adding more.

So, if you buy one CD a month (at what kind of a price?) and then pay $5.99 per month, you can order all the CD's you want? Is that it?

You select a list of CD's to store in a "Queue" on their ordering system and they will automatically send you the one at the top of your queue each month. Total cost is $5.99 per CD, shipped. You can order as many as you want, and put whatever single CD you want in your queue. Double CD's and boxed sets can't be put in the queue, but like everything else can be ordered in any quantity you want. Double CD's cost $11.98. Boxed sets are also priced by the number of discs in them, which can be the best deals they have. You can quit at any time too.

That does sound pretty good. Only one CD per month? What are the jewel cases and inserts like? Are they of the same quality as what you would find at Barnes and Noble and Best Buy? Are they the exact same?

I've seen a few CD's that say something like "Manufactured for BMG Direct", but only a few, and I cannot notice any difference in sound.

Yes, that's the only noticeable difference on some, and that's a throwback to when they wanted to keep the discs out of the regular retail chain. Even the boxed sets are identical in art work and quality of materials.

Very interesting. I must admit I'm intrigued. I guess the method of payment would be check, no? Are there any alternatives?

You can forget that. That number will never be on the internet. It's rarely even given over the phone.

I notice they don't have anything by Jack Johnson, Michelle Branch, The Animals, or Frankie Valli. That's not a real biggie since they have a lot of other artists I like, but do you think they will enlarge their inventory to include some of these artists anytime soon?

They don't have "everything", but they have a great selection. Even if you need to buy somewhere else once in a while because they don't carry something you want, it's still a great deal. Go for it.

I think they're limited to artists that are published under the labels they represent. It's owned by BMG, so I assume all Sony / BMG labels are there.

This looks pretty cool. I don't buy much music, but this may be a nice way to increase my collection. They do need to bump up there selection though (As a quick check, I only saw a fraction of the santana collection, and only a couple from the dead).

    they just have hybrids.

    only SACD hybrids no dvd-audio

The closest thing to dvd is some bundled concerts that include a dvd plus a cd
