Id stay away from the boost. What the bass boost does is add 9 db centered on 40 Hz. This may sound like a good way to add more bass but it can cause SQ problems by making a pretty large hump in the response curve of the sub. Plus it forces the amp to make a lot more power at that frequency not only at the expense of the rest of the bandwidth but also increasing the chances of clipping the amp.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005
