Sub Update..

After palying around with an Outlaw LFM-1 and working with tech support and then even SVS' assitance in location and tweaking of this sub that wasn't even theirs, the end results is that I would need three LFM-1's due to the openes of my space (large rm/open to a large kithcen nook/t-off to a large hallway and even an open sophet above the TV to a 10x10 den..) to play good SPL levels at all volumes. The hole I was experiencing in bass was most likely the rm size eating it up until I got to higher gain levels. I then got extremely interested in the PC20-39+, but after talking with Ron at SVS I may of experiensed some of the same issues as the LFM-1 in this same space. So I was glad to get that info from Ron after sendinding him pics of the rm etc.. To get to the point.. A PB12+/2 "let's say" became acquirable.. So I am so looking forward to this bad boy arriving..

It's done!!!

I enjoyed the trial of the LFM-1 and have nothing bad to say about the product, just look at the reviews on this guy on moderate sized rooms (impressive) plus music was "killer". Large rooms may need 2 of them for HT, but they offer a cut price on a pair if you want to go that route..

I will be getting the PB12+/2 in a few days and feeling like I'm going to explode with anticipation, not to mention what's going to happen to my house when I install it... Keep you posted..

Wow! I doubt you'll ever need more sub than that. The 20-39 PCi shakes the whole house as is @ just between the 3rd & 4th mark on the gain knob. Your foundation will crumble  but I bet you're going to love every second of it! :D

Talking to Ron S will do that to you :D

I recently went over to a guys house to listen to the new SBS-01 speaks w/PB10. The speaks are very nice by the way. He had a slightly larger room than mine, sealed, 2nd story. I was amazed at how much more pressurization and impact he was getting. So I emailed TomV. My room is concrete slab with a 5' opening into an open dining area/kitchen with another opening into the living room. I was calibrated at 75/78 and thought the bass sounded extremely clean, but it wasn't like my friends. Anyway after several exchanges...concrete doesn't activate like a raised wooden floor...it's tough to pressurize 7000^3, etc. I boosted my gain to 1/3 which means I'm running my sub about 8 dbs hot. Sounded a bit bottom heavy, so I played with the phase until, it sounds just about right.

I guess my point is, probably the 20-39+ would have been enough for you. Certainly the beast you're getting is going to do the job. Congrats...

Does your wife realize how big that sucker is?

    Aaaahhh..

Had to bring that up... Good thing the space is large.. And the beast is comming in a cherry finish,-that may help.. It's not exactly going to fit behind the couch like the 20-39 may have.. I'll keep you posted on the WAF as it's important to know..
