I have to admit it frosts me pretty good when a seller leaves no feedback for me, is there anyway to withdraw yours if say a month has gone by and still nothing?

Seems like there is a way to add to your comment... but that may be only in response to a comment left by the other party.

I've seen where person 1 leaves feedback for person 2, person 2 leaves feedback for person 1 THEN person 1 leaves a reply. Can't this still be done?

Personally I believe the transaction is complete when both parties have everything, well, completed. I normally make sure all is well via email and then post feedback. I guess you could say I would be holding the other persons feedback hostage until I find out they have honestly completed the sale.

There is something called "follow-up" in which you can go back and add a 2nd comment to the original feedback that you left. You can also leave a reply to feedback that the other person left for you. I've done both before.

Giving feedback on payment may be courteous, but it is careless and risky with shipping of vintage electronics. I've seen all types of DOA items caused by the shipper and not having a way to respond to the pissed off buyer publicly is a place I'd rather not go.

As a buyer, I leave feedback as soon as the buyer (me) is happy, as a seller I leave feedback as soon as the buyer (them) is happy. Communication over problems are always handled outside of feedback. This can happen through email, phone calls, etc.

Feedback is the final word, in a transaction, not part of the ongoing communication to make the deal happen successfully.

No matter how you go about it, you're never safe. Spending time over on the Ebay discussion boards, there appear to be a bunch of lovely human beings who, as buyers, leave positive feedback for the seller, then wait until the seller posts positive feedback, and THEN do a chargeback via PayPal or credit card.

Apparently the fact that a buyer leaves positive feedback is not considered by PayPal...

    Nice.

I would really appreciate if you could point me in the right direction to find those ebay discussions. Thanks in advance if you can.

I think this may be happening on my 1st ebay sale which was a few days ago.

Buyer leaves me glowing feedback and says the item is mint, I leave him pos feedback, then he comes back several days later with a problem after multiple uses of the item, then he disputes with Paypal. I know the item was in 100% working order when I shipped it. Hell, I even offered to pay 1/2 of a replacement part, even though I told him the item was working when I shipped it.

I hate ebay, well, really more like extremely dislike some ebay'ers!

I agree with Russman and Dennis. The seller should not leave feedback until the transaction is over, and that's not until after they know the buyer is happy.

As a buyer, I could care less about feedback, I can bid on anything, regardless of my score. I go to Ebay to purchase items, not feedback.

That is why as Seller you always wait for PayPal $$$ to transfer into your bank account.. about three days time.
