AGP vs. PCI

I found a simple case i liked, but it has a 20 pin power connector, i need 24. Can i get an adapter? is that a good thing to do? do i have to pick another case with a different power supply? is it better or cheaper to buy the case and a seperate power supply?

you can get the adaptor, but that's not the best way to do it. It's not likely that the PSU included with the case is going to be beefy enough to run that system...

or, the 450w version here-

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811147016 would this case work? would i need to replace the power supply? i can't find a case i like that doesn't come with a power supply so i guess ill just have to replace the one in this case if i need to. it's 400 watts but it has a 20 pin connector. what do you think?

That's a nice case, but I still think you're going to have issues with that PSU. Either now or later on... chances are it's not really rated for anywhere near 400WLudicrous gibs!

Then can i switch it out with the one you suggested? Buying a nice case without a PSU costs about the same as buying a nice one with a PSU and nice PSU to replace it with.

How do I know if a video card supports dual monitors. I'd like an sli capable video card that supports dual monitors with 256 mb of ram and 16 pixel pipelines. i'd also like it to not cost an arm and a leg! am i going to need to start selling body fluids to pay for the video card i want?

If it has two(2) monitor out ports on the back...whether it be two(2) DVI or single DVI and a single RGB.
Worry about SLI later.....worry about PCI Express now.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
If it has two DVI ports can i use an adapter to make one of them RGB until I get a DVI monitor?
-
generally those cards come with an adapter. Check the listing of accessories
