Guy Richie was one of the directors on the DVD. Other directors include John Woo, Wong Kar-wai, etc. -
You guys were right, watched Ronin again last night (it was like seeing it for the first time), and it had a couple of really cool chase scenes. Also had some pretty intense shootouts.
I'm going to see if I can find Bullit, as that one seems to be a consensus winner. You guys are also naming films I've never heard of before so I look foward to finding some of them and checking them out.Main theater: Paradigm Studio 100's v4 L/R, CC690 Center, ADP 590 x4 Surrounds. Secondary System: Polk RTi 6 L/R, CSi3, Center, FXi3 x4 Surrounds, Def-Tech Supercube II, Pioneer Elite VSX-23 Receiver -

Put me down for Bullitt and Ronin as the best. That drag race with the black Charger in Fast and Furious was pretty cool too.Political Correctness'.........defined

the sceen in lost highway where the guy in the bad **** merc chases a man for passing him, rams him a few times, pushes him off the road, give the man a lecture on safe driving (whilst he has a gun thrust down his throat) then deals to him.

If its not to late, save yourselves from wasting time on Transporter 2. Falls way short of the first one. Well it's a Steve McQeen movie, and hes a cop and yeah.. I don't really remember much other than the chase scene through San Fran and then out to the highway (I dont really know the city very well so I can't give specific places). Steve McQeen is in a 67/68(?) Mustang GT Fastback and the bad guys are in a black 68 Charger. The best part is Steve McQueen did his own driving. -
In no way meant to diss anyone, simply an observation of generational familiarity. Who would have thunk you would need to introduce and describe the chase scene from a landmark film like Bullit to someone who had never even heard of it. It is also a great cop movie
The chase scene in it is THE quintessential car chase that set the standard for all modern day movie car chases. I remember seeing it the first time and during the chase down the San Francisco streets watching the heads of everyone in the theater bouncing up and down as the cars bottomed out on the jumps. Wow, one of those first movies experiences you never forget. One of my favorite aspects is listening to Steve double clutch his shifts. I have no idea how this film plays on your high end HT's but turn up the vol. during the chase, the motor sounds should be SO cool.
Another great car/race McQueen movie is LeMans. Fabulous vintage '60's actual race footage. Movie plot is rather weak but filmed during an actual race and the sights/sounds and camera angles are excellent. -
