I have heard the DCM speakers and they recreate true-to-life dynamics in my opinion. They have the ability to get loud yet be discrete about it. Never have heard the Tandbergs but if you are considering the DCM's, you won't be dissapointed.

Always thought the DCM TF's would be fun to try but never tried to aquire a pair. I'd lean toward the DCM's myself given the opportunity. Not much help but maybe a nudge if your looking at a pair.

Peersool - hopefully you got the one's that were on CL! Very nice price if they are in good shape. I had a pair of TF400's and they were a little shy on both lower and upper ends of the spectrum, however nice overall sound and soundstage. I have heard that replacement drivers can be a little scarce, so check that out. I have a pair of brand new Time Windows at the farm that were left with me a long time ago by someone going home for the summer from college and never reclaimed, and I have never heard from him since. I remember them sounding pretty amazing, someday I should get them out and see what shape they are in.DKG999

I listened to a friends pair of newer DCMs and I actually thought they were a little bright. I have no idea what the model number on them was, but they each had a 10" woofer, tweeter in the middle (with a 'post' coming out of it), and about a 4" midrange on top. Cool speakers, though.George Grand wrote: »

dkg999 - yup those were the ones! Gone by the time I got there, some guy drove down from Milwaukee for them.
I was mainly interested in the AR's anyway. I got them and I could've had the Tanbergs but they weren't in the best condition. The AR's are pretty good. Cloth surrounds, nice cabinets, decent grill cloth, but the pots are shot. Gonna have to have a chat with George!Audio: Polk S15 * Polk S35 * Polk S10 * SVS SB-1000 Pro

The man said "you're gonna have days like that!"
I'm usually about 2 hrs. late on the really good finds. Hope the AR's are easily fixed and sound good. I haven't heard many of the older AR's, however they seem to have a strong following.DKG999

My dad has the Time Windows. A very nice speaker. He also has the same amp you do. The combo sounded great. I don't think you will be disappointed.

I was always part of the excessive use of alchohol crowd, and not the smokable/shootable recreational chemical use crowd. I remember the Time Windows sounding really good in a dorm room, lots of spacial imaging. It seemed they sounded a lot better to those who had smoked a little something prior to firing up the evening listening session. Someday I will dig through the storage area at the farm and see if the drivers in these have survived the 26 yrs they have been in storage.DKG999
