LSi15 and Rotel RB-1080
I am thinking of upgrading my speakers from RTi100s to LSi15s. I have a Rotel RB-1080 amp (rated 200 wpc @ 8 ohm) that will be used to drive the LSi15s. Is this a good combination or are there any preferred amps for the LSis?

The rb1080 has plenty of power to drive the Lsi15's and behond. Good luck with your upgrade. It's a good one.

Thank you for the encouragement. How much should I expect to pay for a pair of used LSi15s?
I have one more question, I have a Rotel RB-980BX (rated 120 w/ch @ 8 ohm). Can I use this along with my RB-1080 to bi-amp the speakers? I was thinking of powering the tweeters with the 980 and the drivers/woofers with the 1080.
Thanks in advance. -
anyone?

Used 15's range from $850-$1100. As far as biamping, it will work, but you might not be gaining monumental improvements. You can always try it and post back here.

You'd probably not want to bi-amp.. rather, sell both amps and get an RB1090 if you want supreme Rotel sound. If not, then just keep the powerful 1080 and sell the 980.Magico M2, JL113v2x2, EMM, ARC Ref 10 Line, ARC Ref 10 Phono, VPIx2, Lyra Etna, Airtight Opus1, Boulder, AQ Wel&Wild, SRA Scuttle Rack, BlueSound+LPS, Thorens 124DD+124SPU, Sennheiser, Metaxas R2R

Thanks for the suggestions.
I will probably have to pass on the cherry pair as I am looking for a black pair (Wife's Advice )
As for selling the amps, I will wait till I get the LSis and then think about it. I actually have 2 RB-1080s. One of them is at Rotel right now for the fix for fuse blowing issue.
I had an opportunity to compare the LSis and the RTis at a local FRY's store. I will post my observations in another thread. -
I imagine the Lsi's sound good for HT. I have the RTi100's with a Rotel 1080 and I think the HT component sounds very good. Music on the other hand could stand some improvement. Good Luck.Michael
