I'm Alberto and I'm completely new to this forum and particularly to this 'world'...I've posted the same message in another forum here, but I need so urgent help and so I'm trying to find an answer, sorry for that....recently I had the chance to buy an old Denon AVR 1800+a couple of B&W DM601 Series 2 speaker (I use the B&W as the front speakers)...so I entered (well, tryin' to)for the first time in the 'world' of home theatre, mainly to give a boost to my collection of videogame consoles...so I connect to the Denon my TV, my iPod dock, Gamecube, and XBOX+PS2 using fiber optic cables...I had a center speaker, found two Bose speakers for the surround...only the sub's missing...two days ago I was in a shop and I saw an offer for a Polk PSW10 sub...I'm so ignorant on this stuff+I wanted a sub+the cherry PSW10 is so cute&nice = I bought it!
Now I have a question: the sub instruction manual shows a LFE connection on the sub but it doesn't exist on the PSW10, so is not possible for me to use the subwoofer out on the Denon (and connect to the sub LFE IN)...so my only chance is to use the Polk method? I've read something about it but I'm still very confused, sorry for that!
Also, on the Denon I found an extra couple of jack to drive another couple of front speakers (they're called A and B, I've connected my B&W to the A jacks) and near the Denon SUBWOOFER OUT there are two FRONT LINE OUT (left&right)...argh, more confusion! should I connect the PSW10 L/R to those last? Or may I use the second couple of FRONT L/R and connect to the sub LEVEL INPUT?
I'm reading and reading articles and messages and others....the more I read the more I get confused...any help will be appreciated.
Thanks!
Alberto

Hi Alberto, welcome to Club Polk.
The one thing I can help you with is just use 1 interconnect from the sub: LFE in to the receiver: sub out. Go into the receiver & make sure the crossover is set to 80 & all speakers set to small.
I don't know why Polk insists on printing & suggesting the more complicated wires everywhere approach.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2 -
Thank You but I'm still confused...the PSW 10 doesn't have the LFE IN illustrated in the manual! how can I connect the sub to the amp this way? The Denon has the Sub Out jack port...but the PSW10 is missing the LFE IN, it's illustrated in the instruction manual...but it's missing in the unit!
...and now?....sob....sniff.....sigh....! -
Oh well that's just brilliant Polk! I guess you have no choice but to do it the way HBomb told you to in the other thread.
Personally, I would get a new subwoofer, but that's just me!Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2
