Family problems are never easy. Get the holidays over with and sit down with your Mom and have a long heart to heart talk. Tell it like it is, right from the heart and the gut. Relax for the holiday season Sid and then take action. Have a great Christmas & New Year.

I'd like to help you in your struggle to be free,
The answer is easy if you listen carefully,
You can rant, or you can take a tip from me,
There must be 50 ways to punk your sister.

Just slip out the back, Jack,
Juice the air from their tires, Meyers,
Put sugar in her friend's tank, Hank,
    Did I mention TP?

    Program a modem, Son
To auto-dial her all day for fun,
    A warm bowl of water,
Could really help her go pee.

Shrink wrap her in bed, Fred,
Call the college and tell 'em she's dead,
The candle light vigil in your yard,
    Might even make TV.

Preparation H in her lip gloss, Hoss,
Itching powder in her panty hose, Boss,
    Revenge is best served cold,
    Are you beginning to see?

There must be 50 ways to punk your sister....

I won't call you a jackass, but I will call you a ****. Do you have it in for Sid or something? Your posts in this thread have been nothing short of being a complete ****.

Sid, I think your heart is in the right place, standing up for your mom. Hang in there...

If that's the case, then so be it.

The mean-spirited nature of this board has just gone off the deep end as of late.

Some of the old-timers or "inner circle" here just take glee and pleasure in bullying people. They get off on it and enjoy being mean. It's MUCH more prevalent here than on any of the other boards I frequent. I have no idea why. It's severely twisted.

It has got to stop. I know that many old-timers consider this their personal message board/sandbox and revel in being able to run amok, bullying newbies left and right. It scares people away and is just wrong. Period.

Frankly, I think the board would benefit from more active moderation. It's gotten to that point.

In this particular instance, I do believe it's a case of "messin' with the kid" and meant all in fun. These two have known each other for years, and I can personally advise you madmax is undeserving of the scathing.

This is not meant to deter you from your other stated opinions. They're yours and you are certainly entitled to them.

"Meant in fun?" Where's the smilies?

If this is all in jest, then I apologize, but it sure as hell doesn't read that way from here... it reads as downright mean and cruel. :(

To be honest, I thought the same thing with Max's first post & with the way Sid responded I believe Max did offend Sid.

Sid is in a tough spot right now, & Max isn't offering any helpful or relevant advice.

If this is a "joke" it has fallen flat to others who haven't been here long enough to know whether or not Sid & Max are joking around with each other.

Everyone needs to take in to account that without facial & voice inflections, what you type here can be totally misconstrued.

So everyone should think twice before you post once, and err on the side of polite respect.

    I personally was offended...

I kind of saw his remark as "sarcastic" - possibly saying... My Mom is at fault and that I should step up (or in the sense, why should I have to step up...when its not really my job)...

Be it the case or not... I thought it was really uncalled for and kind of just stupid...period...

PolkSDA pretty much put it how I felt in a few sentences when I was reading his comments eh...

    Nope,

"came home from college" was the quote.

I said she was doing her part. I asked Sid, when are you going to step up to the plate. What I meant was for people who are bettering their life with higher education I can cut some slack, and basically Sid, when are you going to follow. Over the head with the comments, probably too much thought put into it.

**** huh, well if two posts you obviously didn't understand out of 6000 or so changes your opinion of me then I feel no loss. And Jackass after one post? Well, I guess we're on a different page, not that it matters.

    Out of it.

So your saying because my sister is furthering her education...

That she has the right to be an absolute moron outside of school...with total disregard of people and the things around her...

You have a SERIOUS flaw in your perception...

Seriously... and who is to say I dont plan to further my education eh jacko? While I do not plan to go to a 4 year college, I do plan to go to a 2 year college. I also plan to listen to my parents and I plan to respect other peoples property...

But apparently, according to you - only obtaining a higher education is what makes a person great.

RIGHT, ranks are forgotten, your impression is forever.

    Live it, learn it.

    Un-freakin-believable.

I do not have a problem with you really...

Its your comment that completely infuriates me...

WHY? Its because I am so tired of hearing about how you need a college educationm to survive in this world...

You know what? You tell that to the hundreds of people I know that work their TAILS off everyday to support their family and to support the life they live. You may be one of these people...maybe your mad because you didnt have the chance to further your education and you support anyone that can/does and are willing to condemn those that can and dont...

Well I am here to tell you that I plan to further mine past a high school diploma, why? not because I can but because I want to.

But I will stand up for ANYONE that works through blood, sweat and tears to support their life and their family.

Because I know it dosnt always take a college education to be someone...

And the fact that you think it does (or atleast to me you seem to think it does) - amazes me... I would walk in line behind someone who can lay 150 brick a hour before I would walk in line with someone who can tell me the answer to a long problem I cant even write out much less answer but is a complete jerk off...

You may think because they have that higher learning they are somewhat supperrior and above being someone that you normally shun...

THis may be totally off base...and this may be something you dont mean...but this is exactly what I am reading and understanding and it may be above my head because I just dont have the brains to comprehend...

But man...if thats what you think - eff you.

So youre raging because Max suggested youd be better off going to college?

We'll come talk to ya in about 10 years when youre out in the weather working your gonads off laying brick for $12/hr and ask you how much you would like to switch places with the guy thats sitting in a nice comfy, air conditioned office making $60,000 a year.

I didnt go to college either and I make a decent living but I do it lugging around 200 pound beer kegs all day. Until youve worked your balls off 14 hours a day in hard manual labor, you wont know how good that cushy office job would be that a college degree would be.

Who said I was ragging on Chuck because he said I should go to college?

I am mad because Chuck is saying people who go to college can do anything they want...

He just told me...that because my sister is going to college, it is ok she verbally abuses my Mom, defaces property...and is just an all around public pain... all because she goes to college...

And that she goes to college, I should follow suit...

    Umm... Ok?

So hes saying I can be any kind of **** I want if I go to college? and anyone who goes to college can be this wya and it will be ok?

I'm sorry but this makes me mad.

I know GREAT people that work HARD that did NOT go to college and I wouldnt shun them for the world because of that...

The fact he suggests my sister is better than them in some way because she does go to college is INSANE.

    Sid,
You read about a thousand words into my one sentence. All wrongly I might add.

My bad. It was none of my business. (We do come here to talk though). I walked in to my first job, showed my degree and haven't had to do even a single day of physical labor in my life. Not the best money in the world but I get to show up when I feel like it and do what I want throughout the day, both within reason. I worked really hard on some interesting electronic fixes last week and put together an RC car at my desk this week. If I feel like staying home to work on something I do that too, of course I call and let someone know I wont be in. A lot of the time I actually work day and night on a project (normally a project of my own choosing) but that is because it's fun, not because anyone expects me to. The rest of my family makes decent money, some more than me, but they have to work REALLY hard for it and generally don't care much for their jobs. The other thing is if something happens to my job I'll just go elsewhere and continue along my path. These days it IS a real plus to have something in writing to distinguish your skills over someone elses. I mean, 50 people walk into an interview, who do you think is walking out with the job. Whatever your decision, I'm sure you will do fine. You have to admit, I got your attention. I certainly didn't mean to offend you though. Just keep in mind your sister is doing SOME things right. If you read a book into that last sentence I will not respond. (Ducks and runs off). I really am out of it at this point.
