I cant put them in order cause, honestly, they change every day but:

    The Fellowship of the Ring
    The Two Towers
    The Phantom Menace
    Attack of the Clones
    Heathers
    Goodfellas

I would count the 3 #LOTR Films as One
I don't understand your choice of these particular Star Wars films, Wooden acting lame characters, cartoonish effects in some cases. The Originals are far superior but they are your choices and I can respect that without understanding it.
My odd one out is The Thirteenth Warrior
    BraveHeart
    The Great Escape
    The Godfather 1 & 2
Citizen Kane / Changed the language of film.
    The Searchers
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation/I just love this freekin movie.
    Pulp Fiction
    Xmen 1 & 2
    Apocolypse Now

    Honorable mention to Moulin Rouge

It's really impossible for me to narrow my faves down to just 10. I'd add almost every Bogart film, Hitchcock film, To Kill a Mockingbird, Braveheart, Scarface, Citizen kane, GWTW, WOO, and so on and so on. I like alot of the b&w war films like "30 Seconds over Tokyo". I'd almost rather break it down by genre.

Favorite Comedies, Dramas, Sci-Fi, Action, Thriller, Horror, ****(j/k), but you get my drift...

    Or maybe by era.

A group of movies that I'll watch any time. Even when blasting up and down the remote in the middle of the night, if I come across one of them I'll probably watch it to the end.

    In no particular order:

    Animal House
Star Wars - A New Hope
    Raiders of the Lost Ark
    It's A Wonderful Life
    Jeremiah Johnson
    Planet of the Apes
    Jurassic Park
    The Lion King
    How The West Was Won
    The Right Stuff

I hate to try and do these top 10 anything lists, I can never reduce them to that level and as soon as I do I remember a better one. Agree with ND13 about genre etc. (in fact I am particularly impressed with all of his picks, right down my ally, Judge Roy Bean, man I forgot about that one!).

Also, this is a list of favorites, not best movies. Much different criteria. Favorites can be watched over and over regardless of possible "flaws". Many of previously mentioned would be on my list so I will try to throw some new ones into mix:

    Seven Samurai
Once Upon Time in America (full director's version, not cut up crappy one)
    Kelly's Heroes
    Aliens
    Goldfinger
    La Femme Nikita
    Grosse Pointe Blank
    Little Big Man
    Bride of Frankenstein
    Diva (really cool french who-done-it)
    Cool Hand Luke
    Wind and the Lion
    Road Warrior

Ooops thats not 10, see what I mean?

Those are the Italian Spaghetti Western Comedies withTerrence Hill. "They Call Me Trinity", Trinity is Still My Name", etc... Funny stuff.

Of course the KING of all Western Comedies is "Blazing Saddles".

Yup, #3... I didn't see a 4th, but looks like one was released under two names.

I tried to watch it recently. It doesn't stand the test of time.

    1974 My Name Is Nobody
1971 Trinity Is Still My Name (aka All the Way, Trinity)
    1970 They Call Me Trinity

    Thought this was intersting:
    Terence Hill - Actor, Director
    Birth Name: Mario Girotti
    Birth Mar 29, 1939 - Venice, Italy

OK, since I seemd to have started this mini debate on musicals and so called "man movies" in this thread let me reply :) To me, many movies fall into three categories... Movies, film and plain old hollywood BS crap.

'Movies' include your Terminators, Star Wars, Matrixes, Jurassic Parks and other good big budget movies. These seem to be the most popular in this forum since we are all after all home theater buffs and like the big booms and action. I love those too. But I also have an appreciation for 'film'. I distinguish 'film' from 'movies' as being your more artsy farty type movies with a lot more symbolism and a message that the filmmaker hopes to convey. This is why I picked Eyes Wide Shut as I felt it represented a lot of other Stanley Kubrick movies, which are genius in my opinion. He was a master of storytelling, cinematography and symbolism. They require more patience and intellegence to watch (and no im not saying anyone who doesnt like them isnt intellegent, i dont wanna start a flaming war). And of course there are movies that I consider to cover both of these areas such as LOTR, Pulp Fiction, Saving Private Ryan, etc.

Then of course there is Hollywood crap like Taxi, You Got Served, that crappy American Idol movie, etc. for which anyone should be flogged for watching. I think we can all agree on that.

To conclude... I included those two movies because I think they are good works of art, and not neccesarily your traditional great movies. And yes I am used to receiveing TONS of crap from my guy friends for liking them so your opinions are nothing new, i am used to it :)

However I am somewhat biased about Eyes Wide Shut and Moulin Rouge too because I F-ing LOVE Nicole Kidman. Despite my burning, never-ending love for Nicole, I still refuse to see "Bewitched". I have my limits...

    Just bustin your balls. :)

Though I still think that EWS was one of Kubrick's worst films. It doesn't compare with Clockwork, 2001, FMJ, etc,etc.. He failed in the storytelling aspect you mention. As a piece of eye candy, it was spectacular, but to be mentioned in the "TOP 10" seems quite the stretch. You could name just about any other Kubrick film and I'd agree with you, just not that one. That's just my opinion.

When would you like to schedule your flogging??? ;):D

"Barry Lyndon" resembles those remarks. Not his worst, but visually it far surpassed any other measure of a film.
