I am building a hopefully awsome sub this next two weeks and was thinking about how you test a sub so that you can brag about how low it goes. Do you have to have a CD that lets you know?? for instance does it say"This is a 30Hz sine wave.....BBBBBBvvvvvvvWWWWWvbvbbbbwwwww"? I just am not sure how you guys have figured out how low your subs you have built or bought go. Thanks.
......and oh yeah if bizill is reading this, I did not try to piss you off in the post about fixing your rattley **** window.

There are test disks you can buy that allow you to test your system. Avia and Video Essentials make great test disks. You can pick them up at Best buy.
Have fun

My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -
Make your own test disc by downloading the test tones in the link below. keep in mind that by measuring your sub in your room is not telling you EXACTLY how deep your sub is playing because room gain will ramp up the low end. You'd have to take your sub outside and away from any boundaries to really get a sense as to how low it is playing.
