Nice.......bet you don't get it out much :p I think I ran mine pretty consistent for the first 6 months but then like a lot of hobbies, it died....

I think it started with a buddy of mine moving away, and then there wasn't anyone that could keep up....

Most people had the electric "Grasshopper" but not to many had the nitro cars.

Ive laid off squats all toghther for a while. Ive started dead lifting again and dont like to pull and squat together. Its just too much stress on the lower back and since I deliver kegs for a living my back gets a workout every day. So Ive been doing leg press for a couple months but the problem is their leg press machine wont hold enough weight! I can put 10 plates on each side and still get over 15 reps. So Im having to do my first couple sets with 7-8 plates at 20-25 reps, which sucks. They need a heavy duty leg press in there for people that actually work their legs hard.

i know some say the leg press is not as hardcore as full-on squatting, but if i had the chance, i'd rather buy a leg press machine. but as you mention, one with high wieght capacity, though i'm sure i cannot press as much as you. less stress on my back would be nice. my back is my limiting factor in doing squats. i need to hook up with a dead lift setup or purchase an olympic bar and go to work. i'm gettin' pretty burned out though.

Ive been a big proponent of dead lifting for over a decade, I think its the best single exercise you can do.

It works virtually every muscle in your body and is not only great for making you stronger and bigger but also will do more to help you in everyday life than any other exercise.

By bending over and picking up a heavy weight you train your body stabilize it as well which will come in very handy when youre holding 3 suitcases in line at the airport with no problem while the guy behind you is struggling with one. It also comes in handy if you ever need to body slam somebody!

The only downside to it is that it is extremely stressful on the body and I usually get burned out on them after about 6 months at which time Ill cycle back to doing squats. You also dont want to do high reps or even moderate reps. 6 is as high as you want to go. No other exercise offers as many benefits as deadlifting but no other exercise can F you up quicker or as much as deadlifting.

    Forum Rules
    1) Stick to the topic of the forum. This way information is easily categorized to make it easy for new members to access. Threads or posts that do not contain relevant information will be removed.

    2) The discussion of politics and religion is not allowed on this forum.

    3) Pornography and violent images or discussions are not allowed on this forum. This includes posts about weapons or explosives.

    4) No fighting. Personal attacks, trouble making, inappropriate language, or any threatening or offensive behavior will not be tolerated.

    VERY IMPORTANT...

If you have a problem with another member's comments in a posted thread, DO NOT respond with any further comments that will aggravate the situation. Members have two options of recourse....

    1. Email the moderators, directing them to the individual and thread that the problem occurs in.
    2. Resolve the problem between both of you via PERSONAL email.

Reacting to a hostile post with more hostility puts YOU in jeopardy, and risks your account from being deleted. To be objective and fair about situations where forum members are attacking each other, BOTH members' accounts will be removed from our forum (and no, we don't care who started it).

    5) No spam. Any member soliciting spam will be removed.

    6) Do not brand bash. We're all in this together. Discuss what you like and dislike. But don't bash someone or something because you don't like it.

    7) Be respectful of new members. If it was only you and me on this forum, we'd have no fun and the whole industry would collapse. Fact is, home theater is an exploding industry. More and more people all the time are discovering the joys of DVD and audiophile music. Welcome the newbies. For they will encourage industry growth, which will result in better prices and better equipment for all us heathens.

    8) Forum rules & guidelines are not up for debate. This is not a democracy, but rather a private forum owned by Polk Audio. Anyone openly debating the rules we have set in place will be removed.

    9) Nobody will be permitted to post without first obtaining permission from Dragon1952.

    Ill be damned!! :D

Nah...I think squats are probably the most beneficial. If you did only squats and deadlifts though I bet you'd put size on all over. Of course you'd have to get proper nutrition and lots of rest.

dragon joinin' in! yes! i'd have to agree that squats are the most beneficial. second being deadlifts. put 'em both together and i'll be set. i'm afraid of snapping my scrawny little spine, though. i've got it in my head that going heavy is the only way. eff the reps. even got away from sets. but going heavy seems to work for me but at the same time it drains me and i get burned out by it. don't you love doing squats and then an hour later you sit back with some boob tube action and suddenly have to eat or pee? you begin to lift yourself up with your legs but forgot they are as useless as rubber bands and then you fall back on your ****. those are the heavy weights i'm talking about. ;)

btw mac, do you get your reverse grip on or both hands facing the same direction?

I think women are afraid of them . I know I used to be but when I got brave and started to do them the payoff was awesome. That exercise has made the most difference for me. I don't even really use that much weight.
