MIT Shotgun Input Impedance and Articulation?

Gents,

A couple questions as it relates to MIT Shotgun S series:
- Input Impedance matching: what's the real impact? curious, my amp input impedance is 47kohms, so I set it mid-setting, but what can it be *audible* if one picked a wrong setting?

- Articulation *audibality* outside 20hz-20khz range, as one move up from S3 to S1 (by looking at the articulation chart), are they pronounced and quantifiable?

thanks...
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I never tried the "wrong" setting, so no idea.

The move from S3 to S1 is suppose to result in better bass definition with little, if any change in the other frequency ranges.

Too high of an impedence setting seems to give a little more spaciousness while too low seems to tighten things up but gives less soundstage. In the middle is just right for my connection.

    Also,
When going from the phono preamp to the preamp the highest setting gave me siblance, the mid setting cut about half of it and the lowest setting pretty much eliminated it. So for that stage the lowest setting was just right.

ok, I've been pairing my S3 speaker cables with Transparent Musiclink Plus for the longest time, and Doro was kind enough to let me borrow his S3 interconnect a couple months ago. I thought it would be one of those "nice to have" them paired. I was wrong. The truth is: it is all about synergy. Instruments placement becomes distinct, and imaging is very noticeable for the better. It was the same thing with Signal Cable analog two and classic biwire synergy. awesome! from now on, I'll refrain from mix and match different brands, and will try to a complete loop of one brand all across.

Thats exactly what I like to do. I like to stick with one brand same series and go with it. Mixing and matching never really seems to work out. But with so many different brands to try,it's hard not to run into it.

I want to rip that box apart and play with whatever is inside. Does anyone else think it is non-audiophile like to put a box on a cable with matching components inside? I feel that way about SDA speakers as well. I'm not complaining because the sound of both the MIT's and the SDA's are better than anything else I've heard, just doesn't seem "pure" to me. Opinions?

While the MIT's I used for a little while (thanks Chuck, they should have made it back to you by now) weren't Shotgun's, they did have the little box. They didn't seem any better or worse than the Diamondbacks to me. They seemed to go fine with the other AQ wires in the system.

Chuck, gotta have some "faith" - if you noticed the difference, no need to crack the box. If not, then that's what happened to that guy who cracked a transparent XL reference box. ;)

gree with Madmax here. I hate ad ons like Batteries on wires, network bricks, SDA cables, and any other THING that needs to be added to make it better or work correctly.
I like Kimber for one of those reasons, I like Dynaudio for one of those reasons.

Kimber has no network bricks on there audio and video cables.

Dynaudio don't have Bi wiring or Bi amping. I really like that.
