Is there a point when you add too many tube components to a system to where it starts to sound too tubey?

No. Multiple tube stages sound great. It's that one transistor that effs up everything. :)

We'll see. I hope to have it show up today. I'm getting quite anxious and have gone a little nuts buying tubes the last week or so. I've got some really nice tubes on the way, both 12AX7s and 6DJ8/6922s. Some NOS Amperex PQs and Mullard NOS in 6DJ8/6922s.
A matched quad of RCA 12AX7 black plates w/ square angled getters and a matched quad Raytheon 12AX7 black plates w/ halo getters.

I'd still like to get some 12AX7 Amperex or Siemens nos, but I've got a limit on what I'll spend on them. Hell I've gotten to the point that I'll trade my Telefunken smoothplate diamond bottom 12AX7s for them.

There are a lot of bad reviews about reliability from users. Otherwise I'd think about going tubed ;) .

I was just being sarcastic. I already have my tube CDP and it has had great reviews. Just thought that someone could get a tube cdp for a great price. I didn't research the player before posting the link. I'll leave the researching up to the person that's interested in the unit.

There's another one for $550, but it's the newer model, the JD100 . That one seems to be popular...here anyways.

The description says the only issue is with the remote. It was dropped and now has a dented corner and a missing screw. I assume that it still works. This one is a bargain, unless you just have to have a perfect remote.

Yep, the JD100 seems to be a very good one. More expensive though.
    The remote wouldn't be an issue. I already got a Harmony 659 :D .

    Sale pending anyway.
