Good grief! It is frakkin' cold in Nebraska -- high of 7 today and a forecasted low of -7 tonight. Global warming my "at dollar dollar."

What's the weather in your neck 'o da woods?

Ya know what's neat after a cold bit like this blows through -- when it gets back up in the 30s again -- people are wearing only light jackets. That contrasts to the heavy parkas people would wear in Phoenix when it got down in the 40s! ;)

'Winter Storm Warning' here from 6am tomorrow, to 6am Thursday.

We don't get much, but when it does hit, sleet, freezing rain, it jacks EVERYTHING up. Got my 200lbs of 'play sand' this afternoon, to set over the rear axle in the truck, just in case.

Funny thing is, it rides like a Caddy with a little weight in the back.

    Cheers,

-27 in Yellowknife. Not bad for this time of year. It's a storm when accumulation exceeds 1 foot.

22 Fahrenheit outside here right now. It's a little warmer than it was yesterday morning. We're supposed to get to 40 today, 34 tomorrow.

The "winter storm warning" RuSsMaN mentions is forcast for here too. We usually get a couple of those each winter, but it seems no one is ever "prepared" for them. All it takes is a couple of inches of snow or a little ice and some people go completely insane. That's what's so scary about driving around on it: You never know what the other guy might do.

Interesting thing I saw on the weather the other day: Whatever day it was, I can't remember, but the record low was -14 and the record high was 82! That's what, 96 degree difference?!!

Currently 0F/-18C here this morning. When we bought a new vehicle 5 years ago the option I was most eager about was the block heater, just plug it in at night and the next morning that engine starts up with nary a complaint.

Maine -10 to +20 depending from night to day. But we love it. Can't wait for major snowfalls. My 11hp snowblower makes me feel like the toolman with a big too! If global warming continues though I'll have to move north. ayah.

High of -3 today with lows dropping into the -20's
Spent 1/2 hour this morning running a hair dryer along the bottom of or patio door. It was frozen shut and my dog was crossing all fours waiting to get out!
