Okay, so I have a job interview tomorrow at 9am. I seem to be getting a wee bit nervous about it :). Nothing really to worry about, short first interview, just a meet-n-greet with the people who would possibly become my bosses...

It's for a network assistant job at a local bank. I should just be excited, not nervous... it's a great opportunity, full-time, medical, dental, vision, retirement, the whole lot... would put me in a very nice place financially. And, it's not the end of the world if I don't get it, as I do still have a part-time job that's been holding me over for a year now...

Ah, I dunno... I'm just stupid. Anyone else get nervous over stupid things?
Ludicrous gibs!

Hell yeah, everybody is nervous for job interviews.

It helps if you think of questions they might ask and prepare answers. I find that if you are well prepared, you are going to appear more confident in the interview.

Good luck Noah, you'll do fine.

I'm not nervous about the job at all.. just the interview. And I'm not really sure why... if I get the job, I'm sure I'd be fine, it's just the interview. Damn interview. Can I slip "interview" in here again? Sure can... interview.

Bizill- thanks for the uplifting words, I'll be sure to repeat them under my breath as I walk into the bank... a little something like "Panic.. interview... horrible... bank... nightmare.."

I'm sure they'll be very impressed

haha... went well. If I'm one of the chosen for a second interview, I should hear back from them in a day or two. Sounds like a good job... would be cool if I got it. The guy who would be my immediate supervisor is pretty cool... he's the one who interviewed me today. Younger guy, has a son 10mos old.

Sounds like I'd pretty much be in charge of the day-to-day crap with the network and adding/replacing clients. They're moving over to all thin clients, rather than having PCs all over the place. Fairly standard fare, Windows 2000 servers, Linux mail server... only thing that would take some getting used to is the amount of security you have to deal with every day. So far, I haven't ever used encrypted email, or any really strict firewalls and such. Banks have to be very careful with data! This one keeps their online banking in-house, which complicates things even more, because people have to connect to their servers from outside... Most banks just farm that out to a security firm.

Looks like a really nice place to work though, and I hope I get the opportunity for the second interview.

Well, I got the second interview (as stated in Franks thread that I hijacked)... it's in the morning at 10, and I'm wide awake as it's 12:40am. It's weird... I'm still nervous. I've already been in this place once... it's somewhere I could possibly be spending the next few years, and yet I'm nervous to walk in an talk to a few people.

It's no worse than the blind housecalls I have to make on a daily basis, to people I've never met before...

Except this time, they're really going to be hitting me with questions :o
