Just purchased a 62" big screen and today bought a pr of R30 speakers. I also got speaker wire ( two wires going into one plug).

Will this wire work or do I need to do something different?

Ok, forgive me if I get any of these assumptions wrong.....

You want to run a pair of R30 speakers rather than the speakers built into your new tv right? You need a reciever (also called an AVR) that will take a low level input (RCA cables) from your tv and amplify it. Your speakers will plug into your AVR with the speaker cable you already purchased.

You still need to purchase an AVR and some RCA (standard stereo) cables. If I were you, I would go ahead and purchase an AVR that will perform surround sound (at least 5.1) so if you choose to upgrade to that at some point, it is available to you by purchasing more speakers.

If this was not at all what you were asking, please restate your question.. (oh, and welcome to club polk. :) )
